This is a Full-time position in Springfield, OR posted September 12, 2021.

We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our mining operations team.

This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment at quarries throughout western Oregon, primarily for overburden removal operations and site preparation for rock drilling operations (e.G.

clearing benches, constructing access roads and safety berms).

This position will operate a variety of heavy equipment, including dozers (Caterpillar D8T with Command for Dozing technology (line-of-site remote)) and excavators (Hitachi ZX450, John Deere 470G LC, Hitachi ZX330LC, Caterpillar 320).WAGE$65,000-$85,000/year depending on experience.Unlimited overtime when work is available.

Typical hours are 6am to 5pm Monday through Friday.Full benefit package.QUALIFICATIONSMinimum age 18.Experience running wheel loaders and other heavy mobile equipment (excavators, dozers, etc.).Valid drivers license with a driving record that includes no more than 3 moving violations and/or chargeable accidents in the last 3 years and no DUIIs.We submit candidates to a background check through the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to screen felony records as appropriate in compliance with federal government restrictions.We will administer a pre-employment drug test and physical.

For safety reasons, we have a zero tolerance drug policy, including marijuana use.Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and work on feet for long hours.PREFERRED EXPERIENCEKnowledgeable of MSHA regulations.Experience operating computers (minor interface with scale software is a part of this job).JOB RESPONSIBILITIESSafely operates a wheel loader in an open pit surface mining environment to transport rock products from stockpiles to customer trucks and trailers.Operates other heavy equipment in quarries as needed.Completes daily inspection of equipment pre-and-post shift.Performs general housekeeping duties to continuously maintain a safe, clean work environment.Ensures sites are compliant with Mine Safety Health Administration regulations (berming, housekeeping, signage, etc.).Occasionally assists with rock crushing operations.All other duties necessary to satisfy job requirements.BENEFITSHealth Insurance We offer health insurance at a cost of $30/month for the employee portion of the basic plan.
