Dynamic, newly renovated luxury resort and spa in Hawaii is seeking a talented and collaborative HR professional to join their team. Ideal candidate will have complex hotel, resort experience of 5+ years.

This position is directly responsible for supporting the overall objectives of the

HR department at the property and is responsible for operations, including the

coordination, implementation, and management of HR strategy and objectives.


• Direct and supervise employees in the areas

of: staffing, compensation, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations,

orientation/training/development, and policy/procedure development and


• Develop strategy and plan for bringing all HR functions and hiring into

organization, partnering with management team.

• Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management through an in-depth

knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws.

• Provide thorough and consistent day-to-day support of the organization’s HR


• Spearhead recruitment and orientation efforts to attract, develop, and retain top

talent by promoting employee engagement at all levels.

• Create and maintain effective working relationships between managers and

employees, improving communication and building morale.

• Recommend, evaluate, and participate in staff development. Support supervisors

and managers by assisting, counseling, and/or coaching as needed on employee

management practices, performance issues, disciplinary actions, and


• Manage issues with employee relations, conduct thorough and objective internal

investigations, identify appropriate resolutions (consulting with management and

legal counsel as needed), and follow up as appropriate.

• Develop with Management Team the performance and compensation review

process, including the systematic creation and/or review of job descriptions, pay

scale grading, administration of the wage and salary program, and incentive


• Provide HR guidance and interpretation as requested on by management.

• Develop, recommend, and implement HR policies and procedures to align with

the organization’s mission and objectives, as directed by management.

• Partner with management to assist in the development and implementation of

programs to address staff training and development, benefits, and other

employee-focused programs, as directed by management.

• Prepare and manage the HR department budget for headcount and staff-related


and ensure expenditures are aligned with allocated funds.
