Longwood Gardens is seeking a full-time Associate Director of Human Resources to provide best practice HR leadership in alignment with the mission of the organization.

The Associate Director will report directly to the AVP of HR and be part of a six person HR team.

We are looking for an engaging and dynamic leader whose primary responsibilities will include: Elevating our talent management strategies with a specific focus on enhancing employee engagement and retention through the creation and implementation of innovative employee programs.

Assisting in developing and managing employee compensation and benefit strategies and programs that meet the needs of our work force.

Evolving our overall talent acquisition strategy, which will include assisting managers in determining the appropriate staffing levels and building and executing a recruitment plan that attracts top talent.

Developing communications that are in alignment with the employer brand and promotes internal HR programs.

Recommending, developing, and implementing HR policies and procedures, in addition to maintaining the Employee Policy Manual.

Pro-actively communicating to staff on all HR policies and procedures and serving as advisor to managers regarding policies.

Partnering with the Director of Learning and Development to identify staff training needs and assisting in the development of training programs.

Establishing HR metrics to measure progress towards our strategic goal of investing in staff.

The ideal candidate will have: A Bachelors’ degree in HR, Business, or a related field HR certification preferred – PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP and/or SHRM-SCP 7 years of proven leadership experience in Human Resources Excellent knowledge of employment law Thorough knowledge of HR management, principles and best practices Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with employees at all levels of the organization.

Proficient in the use MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as experience working within an HRIS.  We’re proud to offer a competitive starting salary and an outstanding benefits package, as well as a culture based on organization-wide leadership, participation, and staff development.
