This position is the first point of contact for the HR Office and exceptional customer service is a must!

HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours per week 8:00 AM 5:00 PM with an hour lunch break.

SALARY: $15.78 per hour starting salary.

BENEFITS: Full benefits including paid holidays, sick leave and annual leave, health insurance and retirement.

Local supplement of 5.5% starts the month after completion of first year.

State longevity after 10 years of service.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma Secretarial training in high school or business school Thorough knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

One year work experience; personnel department experience preferred.

Appropriate data/word processing, filing skills.

Event planning experience preferred.

REPORTS TO: Senior Executive Director of HR TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month year; work schedule determined by the Superintendent.

Salary in accordance with the adopted schedule.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.Job Requirements:PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Greets all visitors/candidates for employment courteously; verifies appointments, and directs or escorts them to the proper person.

Leads the organization of the annual district recognition reception held every May.

Manages the Personnel Office budget.

Performs secretarial duties such as typing, word processing, and filing of general correspondence (i.E., memos, letters, and reports for Personnel office).

Processes all professional development requests for the district.

Completes all verification of employment requests for the district.

Composes memos and correspondence at the direction of the Personnel Director.

Responds appropriately to in-person, telephone and e-mail requests from district personnel as well as from the general public.

Maintains and monitors the files of the Personnel Office.

Schedules meetings and appointments for the Director of Personnel, and secures the appropriate accommodations.

Interprets personnel policies to the public and district staff.

Keeps well-informed of state and federal guidelines.

Manages the receipt and processing of personnel applications.

Distributes vacancy announcements as requested.

Assists, as requested, with recruitment of employees.

Assists in the scheduling of interviews as requested.

Prepares and maintains confidential material relative to the Personnel Office.

Assists in the preparation of the Personnel Agenda as directed and requested.

Performs other duties as assigned.
