This is a 12 month, full-time, benefit-eligible position. This position is supervised by the Assistant Director of Admissions. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective recruitment plan focusing on the enrollment of underrepresented students. This position coordinates recruitment efforts and strategic planning, manages recruitment territory, and meets with and advises prospective students about the academic offerings, services, activities, and other opportunities SDSU provides.SDSU is especially interested in candidates that can contribute to the experiences of underrepresented minorities in organizations. Women, minorities, veterans, and people with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.RESPONSIBILITIES:* Analyze and use institutional data, geographic trends, demographic data, and industry best practices.* Foster and maintain positive relationships with prospective students and their families, high school guidance counselors, and other individuals influential in the recruitment of students with diverse populations.* Develop effective campus visit programming.* Develop partnerships on and off campus to support recruitment programs of students with diverse populations.* Track and analyze recruitment activities and results, prepare analytical reports.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* Bachelor’s degree completed by first date of employment.* At least three years of experience working with underrepresented students in educational or related settings.* Effective written communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.* Demonstrated organizational skills and time management skills.* Demonstrated attention to detail and follow-up.* Exceptional telephone and customer service skills.* Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.* Ability to represent SDSU in a professional and positive manner.* Must be willing to travel, work flexible hours, and possess valid driver’s license or have ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Master’s Degree in Education, Student Personnel, Counseling, or related area.* Relevant knowledge of admissions programs and practices.* Relevant recruitment and admissions experience.BENEFITS:South Dakota State University offers a wide range of benefits including medical, dental, and flexible benefits, retirement plans, compensation packages, paid holidays, and vacation leave.
