Barnes Industrial, Force & Motion Control (FMC) is seeking a dynamic and progressive Human Resources business partner to serve as the Director, Human Resources for the SBU. This position is a core member of the FMC leadership team, and plays an integral role in providing strategic advice, guidance and support in the areas of talent management and organizational effectiveness to the leadership team. Responsibilities: 

  • Provides human resources leadership, consultation and advice to strategic business unit leaders across the globe, regarding the alignment of human resources initiatives with business goals and objectives to support and facilitate the achievement of sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Collaborates with Corporate HR and plays an active role in M&A activities performing due diligence and integration activities on a global basis.
  • Aligned with the Corporate and Segment HR Strategy, effectively leverages the complete Talent Management System (TMS) to support the growth and advancement of the business. Develops and implements effective, value-added human resource solutions that contribute to the company’s commitment to achieving profitable, sustainable growth. 
  • Leads the global HR team with a style that is collaborative, inclusive and balanced in approach, to achieve commitments and strives for excellence in service and delivery.
  • Uses HR data analytics effectively and partners with the business leaders to attract, select and develop the talent needed to build bench strength and improve organizational effectiveness today, as well as in the future based on the strategic needs of the business. Provides guidance to managers/supervisors and employees to support and facilitate effective teaching/coaching, training & development, performance management and recognition.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relations with management teams, employees, employee representatives and union representatives, support open communication and providing advice/counsel to facilitate and effective problem resolution process. Serves as a facilitator in change management and HR digitization initiatives; has ability to adapt and think creatively in response to complex and diverse challenges. 
  • Utilizing our operating system (BES) recommends new approaches, processes and procedures to facilitate continuous improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of HR services provided.
  • Actively supports and helps the leadership team utilize the full complement of BES – our Total Operating System to drive Commercial, Operational and Financial Excellence.

 

Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years of global human resources leadership experience in a diversified, global, manufacturing environment. Prior industry experience a plus.
  • High-caliber, human resources generalist with experience successfully facilitating and supporting organizational and cultural change. Global expertise and experience required, with an ability to work in a complex and diverse organization. 
  • Strong functional background in people selection, talent assessment and development, employee engagement, HR data analytics.
  • A hands-on, pro-active practical approach and a track record of delivering desired outcomes to support the business. Solid understanding of M&A and integration work for a multi-site organization.
  • Respects individual differences and utilizes the diverse thinking and contributions of all. Works across organization boundaries, encourages teamwork and a sense of partnership.  Empowers others to achieve desired results and holds them accountable.
  • Impeccable integrity; superior interpersonal skills; able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization. Emotionally intelligent change agent who challenges the status quo and acts with a sense of urgency to deliver results.
  • International travel of 25%-30%.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or college/university equivalent in Human Resources or related discipline is required.  Advanced degree /diploma highly desirable
