Director, Executive Recruitment


This is a Contract position in Durham, NC posted June 10, 2019.

Job Overview The leader of Executive Recruitment leads the LabCorp/Covance enterprise-wide global recruiting efforts for executive-level talent (Vice President and above).

The role focuses on identifying and attracting leaders by creating vision and implementing strategies which directly impact the Company?s long and short-term initiatives.?

The leader is responsible for working with C-suite leaders and their direct reports to translate position specifications to talent needs for executive-level candidates across all business units.?

By collaborating with senior business leaders, HR Partners, and Global Talent Management groups, to understand the Company?s vision, the business unit strategies, and the external environment, the leader creates and executes a comprehensive, diverse recruiting strategy.

The role entails team leadership, client relationship management, and vendor relations.?

In partnership with client business leaders, their teams and HR leadership, the leader is responsible for the delivery of talent acquisition services across the portfolio of business, focused on:?

developing and implementing strategies to source, recruit and select a highly-qualified, diverse workforce; designing and executing processes that create positive and engaging hiring manager and candidate experiences to advance the LabCorp/Covance brand as an employer of choice.?

Recruiting results are achieved by leveraging a scalable recruiting structure comprised of employees and select agency partners to build a foundation of global talent.?

The leader reports to the Vice-President of Global Talent Acquisition and is a member of the Global TA Leadership Team.?


Global Recruitment Efforts: Executive Recruitment Lead and develop a team of recruiters, delivering exceptional, high-touch, service to clients as well as executive level candidates.?

Ensures team is knowledgeable, skilled and engaged; provides the tools and information needed to be successful; establishes and effectively communicates standards and objectives; drives accountability for results; provides feedback and recognition; manages requisition benches to ensure a balanced workload across the team.

Manage a global portfolio which encompasses all senior leaders, GMs, and EC members.

Directly influence C-suite level leaders and their direct reports to provide strategic direction, operational leadership and staffing expertise on sourcing/recruiting initiatives and issues.

Point of contact to assigned clients on recruiting service delivery; serve as a talent advisor and deliver effective sourcing solutions to meet business needs.

Conduct “Quarterly Business Reviews” with key clients to highlight recruiting successes and challenges, performance against metrics, diversity efforts, satisfaction survey results, and critical projects.

Serve as an internal consultant on best practices in recruiting to clients; continually research and evaluate the external marketplace to maintain an ongoing awareness of competitive practices, and leverage best practice methods and process improvements.

Design, build and manage best practice / benchmark recruitment tools and processes that are client-friendly, efficient and cost-effective; ensures the recruitment process creates a positive and engaging candidate experience; leverages technology effectively; constantly looks for process improvement opportunities.?

Ensure processes are scalable and consistent but tailored enough to meet local needs.

Maintain strong relationships with vendors supporting recruiting operations (i.e., agencies); sets high standards for quality and service delivery; negotiate effectively to ensure cost-effective pricing.

Leverage metrics to provide decision support within GTA and within business units.

Education/Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required Master’s degree strongly preferred Experience At least 7 years of related experience in a recruiting role within a search consultancy, Recruitment Outsource Provider, or in-house recruitment team.?

A minimum of 4 years leading a recruiting team At least 5 years?

experience working in tandem with external recruitment agencies with results in assessing the performance and effectiveness of their services.

Proven leadership and influencing skills Targeted Selection Interview (TSI) certified in interviewing and assessment.

Demonstrated success in sourcing positions globally at all levels (meeting key performance indicators for recruiting on a consistent basis).
