Director, Global Regulatory Policy, International & Harmonization

The Global Regulatory Policy organization oversees the development and implementation of Medtronic’s enterprise engagement strategy and advocating and collaborating with external partners both in the United States and internationally on a wide range of priority topics.

This position is global in nature and reports to the Vice President, Global Regulatory Policy.

Drive and shape messaging, policies and requirements, and strategic initiatives on priority topics.

Drive global harmonization of requirements to streamline patient access to innovative technologies.

Bring technical expertise, reputation, and networks of the professional to support VP of Policy and to Monitor global regulatory environment trends and changing requirements Build relationships and internal network, patricianly regional counterparts, to share information and lead initiatives to carry out strategy.  This position will have significant influence over policy positions and messaging, will represent Medtronic externally in global regulators and government bodies, and will be required to brief and present to internal senior leadership.

The potential impact to MDT business is significant. 

MUST HAVE Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience

• Technical expertise in regulation of medical devices

• Experience interacting and presenting to senior leaders and external partners, including governments and health authorities

NICE TO HAVE: Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with global regulatory topics and advocating on technical topics

• Well-known leader/expert in the global regulatory medical device space

• Innovative and strategic thinker

• Self-starter and proven leader

• Ability to synthesize and present on complex technical topics

• Strong networking and diplomacy skills, ability to build and foster relationship with internal and external regulatory decision makers and industry networks globally

• Demonstrated ability to be flexible and take a proactive approach to managing change

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience working in a highly regulated industry
