Director, Human Resources

This is a Contract position in San Clemente, CA posted July 11, 2019.

Scope of Position: Reporting to the President, the Director, HR is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization in the areas of: succession planning; talent management; change management; organizational and performance management; and total rewards.

Key Responsibilities
– Partner with the President and executive team to align key global organizational and people issues with the strategy of the business.

Develop actionable global HR strategies which align with strategic and tactical business plans.

Identify opportunities to optimize organizational effectiveness through alignment of strategy, structure and staffing.

Oversee the talent management process to ensure Avante Patient Monitoring is attracting, selecting and retaining the highest caliber talent available in the market at all levels of the organization.

Coordinate succession planning, selection criteria, recruitment process and on-boarding.

Ensure the compensation systems across the business reward performance and are market competitive and incentive structures, domestic and international, are aligned with Avante Patient Monitoring goals overall and motivate outstanding achievement.

Oversee a performance management system that aligns function/department goals with overall Avante Patient Monitoring goals and provides employees regular feedback on performance and development.

Identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and ensure effective training and development programs are developed and delivered and coaching is available.

Oversee Avante Patient Monitoring’s benefit plans, designing and delivering benefits that are competitive and balance employee’s needs with the economic impact to the company.

Ensure that appropriate programs, policies and procedures are in place to create a positive work climate to include employee communication, health and safety, employee handbook, union avoidance, affirmative action, sexual harassment, grievance resolution, etc.

Ensure HR policies, programs, and practices are compliant with laws and regulations.

Work with the leadership team to assess and enhance business processes throughout the business.

Act as an internal consultant in business process improvement, as well as in the use of quantitative and qualitative process assessment tools.

Provide overall leadership and guidance to the global HR function to ensure that policies and practices in all locations are consistent, in compliance with appropriate legal and regulatory requirements and are aligned with Avante Patient Monitoring’s strategy and culture.

Effectively manage all HR vendor relationships to ensure Avante Patient Monitoring receives quality and cost effective services and support.

Experience and Education A track record of developing and implementing HR best practices.

Demonstrated knowledge and leadership in all functional HR areas including employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training and development, HRIS and compliance/legal issues.

Hands on experience with business acquisition and sale.

Successful experience as a member of a senior management team serving as coach and advisor to the business leader and to peers.

Experience in a business with direct labor
– manufacturing preferred.

Experience in a diverse company with exposure to best practices as well as experience in an entrepreneurial company with a roll-up-the-sleeves, hands on culture.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

10 years’ HR leadership experience.

Experience with developing compensation plans (sales and direct labor) preferred.
