As the Director, Human Resources reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, you will be a valuable member of the HR department at Cherry Creek Mortgage as we scale to support significant organizational growth.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a high work ethic, excellent communication skills, knowledge of labor regulations and HR practices, strategic thinking abilities, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. The exceptional Director, Human Resources should improve HR processes and implement strategies that support business growth.

The Basics

  • Collaborate with the HR leadership and senior management team to support the company’s vision, mission, and culture, acting as a strategic partner to provide insightful, innovative thinking and problem solving on critical HR issues.
  • Be a critical and confidential point of communication, escalation, and feedback for staff regarding issues or concerns
  • Act with urgency and proactively manage expectations when responding to inquiries and requests for assistance from leaders, employees, and HR team members.
  • Coach management and all employees on the interpretation of HR policies, programs, procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assists managers with annual performance, salary, and incentive program evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with all California and Federal employment laws.
  • Partner with talent acquisition to manage staffing coordination and job requisition management.
  • Lead and/or participate in HR projects focused on continuous improvement of core programs and services.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience including 3+ in leadership roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in human resources or management
  • Mortgage industry experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and regulatory requirements.
  • Prior experience in multi-state HR compliance, specifically California.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of employee information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and with diverse teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to anticipate and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Experience with MLO compensation strategies and approach, strongly preferred
  • Experience creating, editing, evaluating mortgage loan originator compensation agreements, strongly preferred
  • Experience using Ceridian HRIS
  • HR certification, a plus, but not required

Compensation Details

  • $110,000 – $140,000 per year.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon office or meeting location.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to remain stationary. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 10 pounds. Vision: Close and distance required with ability to see objects in presence of glare or bright lighting (e.g., computer screen). Speech/Hearing: Frequently interact with management, vendors, coworkers, industry constituents, clients, and the public.
