The Director of Human Resources is directly responsible to the Chief Financial Officer for the proper discharge of his/her duties. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for directing and overseeing all human resource functions across the organization in accordance with the policies and practices of Ellingson Companies and the laws and regulations of governmental organizations and other regulatory authorities. This position is responsible for strategic HR planning in conjunction with the strategies set forth by the senior leadership for the organization. Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization¬ís human resource function and performance. Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items impact the attraction, motivation, development, and retention of the people resources of the company. Coordinate and Manage the Employee benefit plan ESSENTIAL TASKS Develops a comprehensive plan to achieve an overall Human Resource capital strategy including employee engagement, employee relations, performance management, employee communications, and policy interpretation. Implements Human Resources strategies including talent acquisition, staffing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, succession planning, and AA/EEO compliance. Manages human resources operations by coordinating recruiting, orienting, and training. Works with the training manager to develop a comprehensive training program for all employees. Serves as an active resource to develop content and deploy new training materials. Continues to advise on employee development including implementing/maintaining mentorship, management, and executive training. Develop human resources metrics including planning a budget, employee retention, and reporting expenses. Requested reports include but are not limited to; retention, new employees bonus, census, employee information by business unit, benefits, and historical information . Manages, directs, and inspires a team of Human Resources personnel to achieve the overall strategy. Manages the company Human Resource Information System (HRIS) ensuring accuracy and maintenance of any changes. Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decision-making. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS Works closely with operations, finance, and any other applicable support group. Strong planning skills and experience Able to compile and analyze data to develop metrics that support decision-making Able to work cooperatively and effectively with different personality types as well as other departments, vendors, and clients. Strong oral and written communications skills: Assertive when appropriate. Able to offer opinions and direction to management. Articulate with ability to communicate effectively with labor force as well as executives. Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Strong work ethic and ethical standards.
