Watearth’s Environmental/Water Resources Planner must be able to work independently with good written and oral communication skills, manage multiple small to medium-sized projects, mentor and manage staff on projects, and creatively solve problems.

They will work directly with our clients and participate in business development.

Roles and Responsibilities: Essential Job Duties Manage projects Provide support for water resources and other components of Environmental Impacts Reports (EIRs) Prepare GIS-based exhibits, graphics, and mapping Perform field work (stormwater inspections, Phase 1/Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments [ESAs}, inspections, construction observations, and site reconnaissance for hydrology/hydraulics and other water resources projects) Develop and analyze databases Work on water resources, stormwater, and hydrology/hydraulics projects Work on environmental projects Work within Asana task management program and update continually Attend meetings with clients and teaming partners Prepare or assist with business development activities Qualifications Bachelor of Science (Master level preferred) in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Geographic Information System, Geography, Geoscience, Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related field degree required.

6 years of environmental or water resources planning experience.

Experience with environmental or stormwater field work.

Documented experience preparing studies, permitting, and documenting field work.

Experience with ArcGIS preferred.

Certification or ability to obtain certification as a QSP preferred.

CAD or Microstation experience is a plus.

Excellent follow through Ability to work independently and take initiative Provides responsive and proactive communication and updates to clients and supervisor Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with staff and clients.

Must have strong written and verbal communications skills.

Produces quality deliverables with thorough attention to detail.

Sample may be required as part of interview.

Problem solving skills Flexible and adaptable Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work on concurrent projects.

Candidates must have or able to obtain the following within two weeks of being hired: Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Personal transportation with valid vehicle insurance suited to field work such as Phase 2 sampling and/or reaching remote locations.

Willingness and ability to travel when needed.

Willingness and ability to work fluctuating and/or long hours as necessary.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

This is a full-time position and is to be filled as soon as a qualified candidate is identified.

We offer a flexible work environment including telecommuting opportunities, flexible hours with required core hours each weekday to meet our Central Time Zone and Pacific Time Zone needs (may require greater than 40 hours some weeks to meet deadlines).
