Executive Director, GTCC Innovative Resources Corporation (GIRC)

This is a Contract position in Jamestown, NC posted February 1, 2021.

RPM The Executive Director oversees the financial operations, daily activities, marketing/sales strategies, project/process development, and client development/stewardship for the GTCC Innovative Resources Corporation ( GIRC ) and its subsidiary, the GTCC Center of Creativity and Commerce. Duties/Functions Manages GIRC and affiliate programs/projects including but not limited to goal setting, business plan feasibility, budgets, and strategic planning. Coordinates the development and expansion of revenue-generating projects for GIRC and its subsidiary. Represents the GIRC and affiliate programs/projects in the community and oversees the development of partnerships. Develops and implements a comprehensive business plan for the GTCC Center for Creativity and Commerce and is responsible for securing and managing conference center sales to generate revenue and ensure profitability. Oversees the processes for annual budgeting, asset management, and related financial matters, i.e., month- and year-end closings, audits and required government filings, for GIRC and its subsidiary. Coordinates the development of marketing/promotional materials including print collateral and websites. Responsible for the development and implementation of the appropriate strategies. Supervises and provides direction to GTCC staff assigned to GIRC and its subsidiary. Directs those measures necessary to ensure customer/client services, relationships, and satisfaction to include maintaining a database of current and potential customers / clients. Plan and facilitate the relationship with the GIRC Board of Directors including coordinating semiannual meetings and recruiting at-large board members. Represents the GIRC and subsidiary at meetings of the GIRC Board of Directors. Direct campus facilities by ensuring the proper maintenance of the campus and managing campus space utilization. Monitor compliance by all persons on campus with college policies and procedures and with good business practices. Provide feedback to college leadership regarding any matters of concern regarding campus operations. Demonstrate and model the Colleges employability skills: adaptability, communication, information processing, problem solving, responsibility and teamwork. Participate in national, regional and state professional development initiatives to improve knowledge and skill base. Other duties as assigned Difficult Challenges Directing a variety of campus personnel and managing workflows where no direct reporting relationship exists. Identifying and analyzing campus safety and security concerns. Coordinating improvements with Risk Manager, Campus Police and college leadership. Contacts Daily: Conference center personnel, students, faculty staff and any building visitors. Weekly or Bi-Weekly: supervisor Education Required Bachelors degree in related field including but not limited to business administration, entrepreneurship, marketing, or communications. Education Preferred Masters degree in related field including but not limited to business administration, entrepreneurship, marketing, or communications. Experience Required 6 or more years of related experience A minimum of 6 years supervisory experience. Valid drivers license. Experience Preferred 10 or more years of related experience A minimum of 10 years supervisory experience. Experience in start-ups, small business development or similar experience. KSA Required Knowledge of/experience in the following areas: oHospitality industry oCustomer service oSales/Marketing oBudget management oPersonnel Management oProject Management Presentation skills to boards of trustees and directors. Understanding of intellectual properties laws. Measure success based on project deliverables, timelines and cost. Determine levels of start-up funds availability for a project. Facilitate collaboration and innovation among employees of GTCC . Be able to reject proposals while assisting the collaborator/partner/co-worker in understanding how to make the proposal stronger and potentially more actionable.
