Based at our Rindge, NH location, this position will help to support faculty and staff located in New Hampshire and Arizona.Job Summary:As our Human Resource Generalist, your professional, reliable, positive attitude, respect for others, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion will join our small team. While your generalist skills will be widely utilized in this role, some of your focus will be on our recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes. Other specific roles will include payroll data entry and report writing. Your strong analytical skills will help to frame our next steps for the faculty and staff of the University.Other things you will be able to do:Foster strong working relationships with our supervisors and managers, and build a positive partnership to guide and work collaboratively with them.Create and work with a variety of reports using Microsoft Excel.Revise, update or create job descriptions to support our recruiting efforts.Act as our point person for employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors. Collaborate and participate creating and delivering employee trainings.Prepare bi-weekly and monthly payrolls. Prepare monthly and annual required reporting and ad-hoc report requests.Skills and Qualifications:The skills and qualifications that you possess will include:A solid sense of humor.3+ years’ experience in office work, preferably within a human resource environment.Excellent reporting and analysis skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulation.The ability to quickly learn an HRIS platform.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary, with negotiation and conflict resolution skills desirable.Ability to look at processes and determine improvements, if needed for efficiency.Ability to effectively interact and create great working relationships with all levels within the University.Must be highly organized and attentive to detail with a sense of urgency.Ability to work accurately under strict deadlines.Ability to show good judgment, strong initiative and solid work ethic.Working knowledge of Human Resource principles and theories, plus current Human Resource practices are desirable.Must be able to adhere to strict confidentiality.Must be approachable and present a positive and professional image through conduct and appearance.This position will initially be in person and on campus but will allow for working remotely, as needed.Application Deadline:Confidential screening of applications will continue until the position is filled.As an Equal Opportunity employer, Franklin Pierce recognizes the impact of a diverse community and encourages applications from individuals with varied experiences, backgrounds and perspectives.
