HUMAN RESOURCES

The Human Resources department plays a critical role in managing the organisation’s most important asset, its people, and is responsible for a broad range of activities, including identifying and recruiting the best available talent, and partnering with managers to retain, develop and motivate our people to reach their fullest potential. 
 

THE ROLE

Reporting into the North America Talent Acquisition Regional Practice Lead (RPL), as Campus Recruiting Team Leader, you will take ownership for the delivery of campus recruiting in North America. This role is responsible for full-cycle campus recruiting of our intern programme, Rotational Development Program (RDP) and full time entry level hiring. You will be responsible for ensuring Northern Trust continues to attract diverse, early career talent.

Client management and support

  • Partner with business units to understand hiring needs and gain commitment on headcount for intern, RDP and full time graduate hiring.
  • Build business relationships to ensure participation and engagement at campus events.

Campus Recruiting Strategy

  • Develop and implement a campus recruiting strategy that will achieve hiring goals for campus hiring.
  • Ensure strategy has a diversity focus resulting in strong and diverse representation across all programs.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external diversity partners as well as developing relationships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
  • Partner with campus recruiting teams globally in order to share best practises and provide a seamless service to our internal clients.
  • Manage overall campus recruiting budget, including event expense tracking, annual updates and reforecasting, etc.
  • Oversee execution of all candidate engagement events/activities including interviews, candidate selection and closing process
  • Partner with employment branding consultant to drive brand awareness on campus
  • Evaluate the success of each recruiting season; prepare and analyze metrics on the overall campus season, return on investment, college success, conversion of intern to full time hire etc.

Team management

  • Lead, develop and manage a team of Campus Recruiters and Coordinators
  • Assisting the RPL in developing a positive working environment where staff are engaged and appropriately challenged.
  • Demonstrate a fair and equitable approach in recognising, rewarding and developing each individual employee
  • Set clear, measurable goals and expectations
  • Support the development of employees through coaching and performance management
  • Complete appraisals and other people-related processes in a timely manner

Projects and process improvement

  • Work with TA Operations and RPLs to support the development of TA processes and procedures
  • Lead / participate in projects and strategic initiatives within the TA function
  • Develop and utilise project management skills
  • Strong track record of building and executing campus recruiting strategies.
  • Excellent people management experience with experience of performance management, coaching and developing others is essential
  • Demonstrable track record of success partnering with campus diversity organizations.
  • Experience of gathering and analysing recruitment management information and using this to identify and initiate improvements
  • Self-motivated with good management capabilities, flexibility and a strong problem solving approach to issues
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of teamwork & motivation skills
  • Ability to network effectively, establishes credibility quickly, builds strong relationships with candidates and hiring managers and effectively sells Northern Trust
  • Willingness to put in extra effort to complete tasks and meet tight deadlines
