Case Paper is one of the largest privately held distributors and converters of paper and board for the printing and packaging industries.

We’re not talking copier paper (think more about paper used for signage, brochures, or direct mail) and not the cardboard that carries your Amazon Prime orders (our products are used more for packaging cosmetics, food, technology, and cannabis to name a few).

We’re adding a new role to our team: A HR Generalist / Recruiting Specialist!

What exactly does this position entail, you ask?

Well, in addition to the standard battery of magic tricks and superhuman feats that we expect of all our teammates, this position will be primarily responsible for overseeing the hiring, onboarding and orientation process.

Other duties will include ensuring all professionals, from executives on down, are following federal, state, and in-house regulatory compliance among handing employee relations.

Perform HR related functions within our HRIS platform -ADP Workforce Now
Assist with Payroll processing -experience with hourly to executive level employees
Support cross company recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt employees, and temporary employees as needed; conducts new-employee orientations
Assist in creating and updating job descriptions for employees to accurately represent the scope of the role at any given moment
Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
Handle employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing
Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.

Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Do you have what it takes?

We’re ideally looking for a teammate with at least five 5-7 years of progressive HR management experience to include recruitment, employee relations, benefits, training, multi-state and federal employment law, ADP/HRIS, communications, compensation, company event planning.

It would be super if you had experience in a manufacturing environment and even better if you have worked in analytical roles.

We’d love it if you’ve had previous management or leadership experience.

This experience will help you to move quickly up the learning curve (we will avoid any tired clichés like “hit the ground running”).

You’ll impress us if you have a college degree in related field (HR, business management.) -OR
– if you have commensurate work experience in related discipline(s) and/or relevant certifications.

Your background should provide you the tools and ideas you need to be successful in a highly analytical and detail-oriented role.

While this is a high-level contributor position, we value the hard work, experience, curiosity, and best practices you can bring from other positions and workplaces, with or without the formal education.

As the philosopher Napoleon Dynamite astutely recognized, skills are important.

Here are some of the skills you just might need in this role:
Microsoft Excel.

“If Excel is your friend, then you are our friend.” This means data analysis, financial modelling, formula calculations, sorting, filtering, conditional formatting, data validation, pivot tables, macro support, etc.
Multitask and prioritize workload, shifting between a variety of tasks as necessary (obvs)
Working knowledge of and experience with Human Resources Information Systems (we use ADP, so if you know that system, it will help!), and double bonus points if you know Workforcenow
Knowledge of basic business principles: margin, working capital, profitability, etc.
Solid verbal and written communication skills with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders
Be someone that other people want to work with (
– > such an underrated skill!)
