HR Recruiter (Contract)

This is a Contract position in Bloomingdale, IL posted November 21, 2021.


Recruits, screens, interviews, and hires qualified candidates to fill existing job openings at all levels, and assists with other human resources activities by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Determines recruitment needs. Discusses personnel needs and recruiting process with supervisors and managers. Ensures requisition for new hire forms are received and obtains the necessary approvals.

Recruits qualified candidates. Updates and distributes weekly Job Opportunities. Contacts colleges, outplacement services, agencies, retail stores, etc. to obtain applicants and/or arranges advertising through Internet, trade journals, job fairs, newspapers, etc.

Coordinates the internal job transfer process. Ensures qualified internal candidates are interviewed and that timely follow up is completed with internal candidates on the status of transfer requests. Ensures transfer paperwork forwarded to Payroll in timely manner

Prescreens and interviews applicants. Provides information on company, job opportunities and benefits to potential applicants. Refers qualified applicants to department managers and supervisors for follow up interview and obtains feedback from them. Administers and scores aptitude and skills tests. Conducts reference checks on applicants.

Hires qualified candidates. Obtains approvals and salary for candidates selected for hire. Makes job offers to job applicants and sends follow-up offer letters. Coordinates and schedules pre-employment drug screens, physical exams, functional testing and background checks.

Coordinates the employee referral program. Ensures that timely follow up is done with employees on the status of employee referrals and that employee referral bonuses are paid when due.

Meets all KPI’s and goals for recruiting function. Tracks recruiting metrics and reports in a timely manner. Recommends activities and process changes to make recruiting process more efficient.

Receives invoices from background checks, recruiting firms, physical/functional/drug testing and other testing and processes PO’s.

Conducts new hire orientations to ensure new employees are familiar with company policies, processes and benefits.

Performs a variety of administrative duties in all areas of Human Resources. Assembles and distributes information (i.e. training, benefits, company policies, company events) to employees. Assists with other Human Resource duties and projects as needed.

Complies with safety and GMP requirements.


Supports a culture of safe production and operations; follows all safety rules and procedures. Actively participates in the safety program by: engaging in training activities to learn what constitutes a safety hazard; reporting safety concerns to the supervisor, submitting safety suggestions, and correct or report to the appropriate people when an employee sees a workplace health or safety hazard, until it is resolved. Assists with communicating safety information to new employees. Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety management plan.

Bachelor’s degree; and a minimum of three years related experience and/or training. Advanced skills in interviewing techniques as well as extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices are required. SPR or SPHR certification preferred.


Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and the general public. Oral and written bi-lingual skills in Spanish preferred.


Excellent problem solving and judgment skills required.


Must have intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively multi-task are essential. Strong communication (oral and written) skills required. Must present a professional, positive image at all times.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 – $40.00 per hour
