Human Resource Associate

Coney Island Prep

This is a Full-time position in Brooklyn, NY posted June 7, 2021.

An Invitation to Apply for the Position of

Human Resources Associate

Coney Island Preparatory Public Charter School

Brooklyn, New York

What is the Role?

Coney Island Prep is a small network that strives to make a big impact on the students and families of South Brooklyn by preparing every scholar to succeed in the college and career of their choice. To assist in doing this daily work, we are in search of an individual to join our People Team as the Human Resources (HR) Associate. The People Team consists of the Human Resources and Recruitment Teams. As the HR Associate, you will assist in driving the day-to-day operations and administrative needs in support of the HR function.

At Coney Island Prep, we approach our work with purpose and intent. We dont see ourselves as operating with a corporate or old-fashioned hierarchy here–everyone, no matter your level of experience or title, chips in to do the work and provide the best possible customer service for staff members in the organization. Our network is a self-directed, collaborative working community. As a member of the People Team you will demonstrate ownership of your work outcomes and successfully establish collaborative relationships. The HR Associate will be supervised by and partner with the Director of Human Resources to communicate policies, procedures, and benefits. On a daily basis you will engage with all levels of employees to help support the execution, initiation and communication of HR programs, processes and initiatives across the network.

Working at Coney Island Prep is nothing short of being stimulating. It is an environment in which you can demonstrate your expertise, but will challenge you to work through ambiguity. That is the charge which we are seeking a person like you to lean into–asking to collaborate or to teach us a different approach. To support you in your work and efforts, weekly check-ins will be held to assist you in finding the appropriate resources to complete the assignments at hand. We understand that the way we work may not suit everyone, but if contributing to community culture, assisting with the execution and coordination of tasks, jovial colleagues, and a series of occasional head-scratching challenges are appealing to you, then this could be the right fit!
