POSITION SUMMARY Compensation and Benefits Specialist to direct the planning, administration, and implementation of all compensation program and policies; to include job descriptions and evaluation, performance appraisal, wage and salary management and incentive programs and work closely with corporate partners in administration of benefits (life, health, and disability insurance as well as pension and related retirement).

The Benefits Specialist will develop and monitor benefit plans which provide value to employees, are cost-effective for the organization, and meet defined objectives.

Oversee the performance management process, and drive the HRIS function for Human Resources and processes to ensure timely reporting and accuracy of data.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement effective total benefits and compensation delivery systems to support the organization’s ability to recruit, retain and motivate high-performing employees.

Maintain due diligence while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws in all matters related to compensation and benefits.

Manage job evaluation and salary analysis functions, including salary survey analysis, compensation program budgeting, salary structure development, salary increases, and related pay programs.

Assist in the planning and direct implementation and administration of employee benefit programs such as health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, workers compensation, employee assistance, retirement, and other plans.

Provide consultation to management and Human Resources regarding market trends, job, classifications, and application of compensation programs, policies, and guidelines.

Develop and administer performance review systems for all employees to ensure compliance with compensation administration guidelines.

Serve as system administrator and manage PeopleSoft and Kronos processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of data.

Prepare and manage the department budget, ensuring expenditures remain within organizational guidelines.

Oversee timely and accurate reporting in meeting the requirements of the organization’s timekeeping system for the department.

Experience and strong communication skills in both communicating, preparing and presenting complex information in a simplified delivery.

Strong team player and collaborator and is excellent at leading cross functional initiatives and understands the impact of effective teamwork with a strong appreciation for diverse environments Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS REQUIRED Education: BA/BS degree in Business Administration or related field, with Human Resources and/or Compensation Certification(s), or equivalent years’ experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires knowledge of appropriate statutes including FLSA, Equal Pay Act, Title VII, and other applicable laws, is necessary.

Working familiarity with CA Laws and regulations is a plus.

Incumbent is expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills and abilities needed to keep abreast of compensation, benefits, performance management, and HRIS administration.

Minimum 5 years of Human Resources Management experience in Benefits, Compensation and Performance Management, in addition to possessing expertise in other functional areas of Human Resources.Must have experience in organizations of 500 or more employees, with experience in HRIS administration.

Exposure to PeopleSoft, Kronos timekeeping systems is a plus.Advanced knowledge of and expertise in all areas related to compensation, benefits, and performance management.

Must have knowledge of job evaluation, salary structure development, and market pricing using major surveys.

Must have thorough knowledge of business operations and strategic planning, as well as excellent problem solving skills.

Requires advanced Excel skills, including tables, V-lookups, and graphing and Intermediate Word and PowerPoint skills.

Must have proven ability to negotiate successfully with senior management.Provides expert counsel and exercises sound judgment in handling complex compensation issues.

Position requires high degree professionalism, judgment, and maturity, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Must have exemplary oral, written, and interpersonal skills, as well as strong ability to educate, persuade and interact with all organizational levels.

Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy during the process of educating, mentoring and coaching staff and management is a must.
