Human Resources Area Leader East- Distribution Centers

We have an excellent opportunity for a Human Resources Area Leader
– Distribution Centers.

In this position, the successful candidate will perform the following job responsibilities:
Establishes procedures for recruitment, hiring and placement of hourly and non-exempt employees in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.

Engages in staffing activities including recruitment, testing, placement, orientation, transfer, promotion, layoff, recall and termination of DC warehouse and office personnel.

Counsel and advises DC Managers and DC Supervisors regarding company policies and procedures.

Recommends disciplinary action and warnings where necessary.

Manages all employee relations issues and conducts investigations when required.

Responsible for DC Compliance with all government and company requirements.

Responsible for managing occupational health issues, accident reporting to workers compensation insurance and managing return to work.

Counsels individual employees regarding company policies and procedures.

Processes changes to associate status, manages compensation changes and provides guidance on setting pay rates at DC’s.

Maintains accurate and complete employee files and other HR related information.

Administers and maintains pre-employment and post-offer testing including Drug and Alcohol testing.

Manages and tracks compliance and mandatory training programs at DC’s.

Administers benefits programs, including disability and leaves of absence.

Tracks and report relevant HR metrics.

Bachelors’ degree required.

Minimum of five years’ prior Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Strong leadership, interpersonal, facilitation and problem solving skills.

Strong conflict management skills.

Effective organization and planning skills.

Must have thorough knowledge of employment laws.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Must be willing and able to travel, approximately 25% of time.
