Human Resources Assistant

East Central District Health Department

This is a Part-time position in Columbus, NE posted November 23, 2021.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources (HR) Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource Department.

The HR Assistant provides administrative support for the HR department involving onboarding of new employees, processing bi-weekly payroll, managing company trainings and completing a variety of HR-related data entry and administrative tasks.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.

Assist with the recruiting activities which include posting open positions, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews and notifying candidates.

2.

Participate in the pre-employment process including reference checks, employment verifications, background investigations, and drug screens.

3.

Oversee completion of compensation and benefit documentation.

4.

Assist with performance management procedures.

5.

Schedule meetings, HR events, maintain agendas, record minutes and transcribe as necessary.

6.

Contribute to the Agency’s onboarding process by preparing and presenting material.

7.

Manage the credentialing process of all licensed or certified health care practitioners.

Track professional licenses, vaccinations status credentials.

8.

Manage the Agency’s timecard process.

Review timecards for completeness and accuracy.

9.

Monitor employee attendance and ensure proper documentation is issued in accordance with Agency standards.

10.

Manage student internship and clinical rotation request.

Coordinate Agency paperwork and track for compliance.

11.

Assist with the FMLA, STD and LOA process.

Educate employees and managers on the leave process to ensure compliance.

12.

Provide general administrative support for employees with Human Resources related issues.

13.

Prepare and maintain all Human Resources files to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.

14.

Keep employee records up-to-date and process employee status changes in a timely manner.

15.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with customers at all levels.
Extreme attention to detail and organization.
Ability to multitask and meet changing deadlines.
Ability to work well with individuals of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and intellectual backgrounds.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Previous Human Resource experience.
4+ years of administrative assistant or similar experience preferred.
Previous experience working in a hospital, clinic or physician’s office preferred.
Bi-lingual preferred.
