Human Resources Assistant

This is a Full-time position in Costa Mesa, CA posted March 2, 2021.

We are looking for a Human Resources Assistant for a law firm to handle clerical and administrative support to the Business Office in the areas of human resources, benefits, and compliance for approximately 260 employees. This role is for someone who exhibits professionalism, high attention to detail, and organizational skills. This is a full-time position. This position may be temporarily remote.

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Processing and maintenance of highly confidential information in the areas of recruiting, on-boarding, separation, performance, compensation, etc.
  • Facilitate annual company-wide employee programs.                                                                      
  • Data base entry, processing and maintenance for all employment records, group benefits and leaves of absence. 
  • Reconciliation of monthly benefit plan invoices                                                                                                                                        
  • Assist with staff scheduling.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence.
  • COBRA administration                                                                                                                      
  • Worker’s compensation claims processing                                                                                                 
  • Assist with governmental and regulatory compliance.                                                                         
  • Support payroll processing and serve as payroll backup as necessary.
  • Continually maintain awareness of HR trends, and federal and state laws.

Here’s What You Bring to The Table
 

  • Knowledge and understanding of California/Federal Leaves of Absence eligibility and compliance (Paid Family Leave, FMLA, CFRA, Disability, etc.) 
  • ADP Payroll Experience
  • Experience generating reports in ADP Workforce Now      
  • Group benefit plan administration knowledge
  • Pension plan administration knowledge including defined contribution and defined benefit plans.
  • Attention to detail.                                                                                                                   
  • Exceptional accuracy

                                                                                                    
Mandatory

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Payroll Experience
  • Extremely organized
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Excel proficiency
  • HRIS data base experience, ADP preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, PHR or SHRM CP highly desirable
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources Experience
