Human Resources Assistant

This is a Full-time position in Henderson, NV posted June 10, 2021.

VSR Industries has been a world leader for over 50 years in the casino gaming industry, manufacturing high security locks and custom fabricated sheet metal and wood products.We are seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Assistant who is accustomed to working within the office environment and able to meet strict deadlines. This position will report directly to the Human Resources Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate HR staff or management.Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.Maintain digital and electronic records of employees.Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.Serve as point of contact for employees and management team.Responsible for processing all onboarding paperwork for new hires and rehires.Orients new employees by providing Paycom Employee Self Service; orientation information packets; reviewing company policies; gathering withholding and other payroll information; and explaining the benefit program.Responsible for preparing and posting job openings to appropriate job sites, newspapers, etc.Assists in the administration and maintenance of the applicant tracking system.Partner with hiring managers to identify skills and experience needed to fill key openings.Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.Assist with interviews by assessing and recommending candidates to the hiring managers based on skills, experience, and cultural alignment.Maintains employee information by entering and updating employment and status change data into HRIS system; ensuring the accuracy of the information. Compiles reports from database as needed.Responds to requests for employment verifications.Contribute to initiatives dedicated to improving the entire recruitment process, ensuring good communications and an exceptional candidate experience.Assist with payroll and adhoc HR projects.Maintains complete confidentiality of all HR-related information.Performs other duties as petenciesExcellent verbal and written verbal communication skills.Works well under pressure and meets tight anizational skills.Time Management.Superior attention to detail.Accurately follow instructions.Maintain confidentiality.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in an office and manufacturing environment. While in the manufacturing environment, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, low-speed and high-speed machines, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be low to high. Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level necessary to successfully perform assigned responsibilities. Ability to utilize/operate a computer, peripheral equipment and appropriate software. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and to understand and apply work specifications in the completion of work tasks. The ability to hear, speak, use hands/fingers and the repetitive motions of hands/wrists are frequent. Ability to move within the production area and occasionally climb stairs. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation. Qualification RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalent.1-2 years of experience in Human Resources.Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly preferred.Experience with Paycom is termediate or higher skill level Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Ability to work independently.Extensive knowledge of Nevada and Federal laws and regulations.On-site position (non-remote). Pre-employment drug screen and background check are required.
