What does it mean to be a Human Resources Business Partner with GLS?

Amazing opportunity to influence the growth of an outstanding company – GLS is seeking a top-tier talent to serve as Human Resources Business Partner. The role will report to the Sr. Manager, Human Resources Consulting and operate from our Greenville, SC office. Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for driving human capital management programs and processes to optimize business operations including employee relations, performance management, talent development and related organizational initiatives.

How will you drive value within the organization?

  • Using performance data from operational units, deliver core HR processes for managing performance, developing talent, building thoughtful career pathing, and deeply engaging individuals and teams
  • Monitor and drive enhancements of key HR programs such as on-boarding, performance management and employee relations; developing and implementing new processes as necessary
  • Provide guidance in the application of processes and policies to ensure consistent management of employee performance across the organization
  • Conduct thorough and objective employee relations investigations as necessary; establish and implement proper steps for corrective action(s)
  • Coach business leaders on key areas such as leadership, teamwork, strategy, etc.
  • Support the overall organization to design and deliver on key strategic projects
  • Foster a collaborative culture that facilitates the achievement of business plan objectives by working closely with other associates and members of management
  • Participate in special projects as needed
  • Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by management

What should you already know to be successful in this role?

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree required with HR focus preferred. SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred. Internal candidates at the Specialist I level with commensurate experience and a track record of sustained, top performance against company standards may be considered
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience across multiple human resource disciplines including talent development, employee relations, and performance management or in progressive leadership roles with emphasis on growing and developing teams
  • Intrinsically motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify needs, make recommendations for improvement, see recommendations through implementation, and evaluate improvements for effectiveness
  • Excellent consulting, client management and business literacy skills with demonstrated understanding of corporate and business unit challenges
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others, effectively manage conflict, exercise sound judgment, effectively manage highly sensitive and confidential information, interact at all levels within the organization, and build cross-functional partnerships across the business
  • Team player that can adapt in a fast pace and changing environment
  • Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of internet and standard business applications such as Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn new computer applications as required
  • Commitment to exemplifying the organizational core values and key competencies

Employment Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • This is an exempt level position whereby business need will dictate the exact work schedule which should be expected to vary at times. Generally, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am-6:00pm
  • The position does not require travel
  • Talk and hear to exchange accurate information
  • Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
