Human Resources Coordinator

Alertus Technologies

This is a Full-time position in Baltimore, MD posted June 8, 2021.

We are looking for an all-star HR professional to play a critical role in driving Alertus’ rapid growth.

The HR Generalist will report to the Chief of Staff and will be a key player in bringing our mission to life.

In this role, you will help develop and implement HR policies and procedures that enable a high-performing, impactful environment.

This is a highly visible role where effectively working with senior leaders to new employees is the key to success.

Our ideal candidate is an expert communicator who takes challenges head-on: One who is equally dedicated to the growth of the company as they are to the growth of its employees. 

This role is currently remote due to the Covid-19 pandemic but will return to the office once it can safely be reopened.

A Day in the Life:
Support the day-to-day operations of the HR department Assist in planning, developing, and implementing new HR policies in addition to overseeing existing policies in the areas of training, compensation, compliance, and benefits to attract and retain top talent Effectively communicate and interpret HR policies and procedures Support in answering all Alertus inbound phone calls on the mainline, sales lines, and technical support lines when other personnel are unavailable Stay up-to-date on local, state, and federal employment laws to remain compliant Oversee the recording and maintenance of employee information as it pertains to personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, performance reviews, etc.

Collaborate with senior leadership to drive employee engagement and training strategies Assist with preparing documentation and handling unemployment and worker’s compensation claims, filings, and appeals Perform or assist in HR-related audits Manage new hire onboarding, offboarding and terminations Assist recruiters in scheduling onboarding and training for new hires, drafting job offers, and other similar recruitment support tasks when available Maintain physical personnel files and assist in aligning electronic files with hardcopy files through regular audits

What You’ll Need:
2+ years of experience as an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or a similar people operations position; Experience working in a midsize company is a plus!

BA/BS degree, human resources or business preferred but not required Strong organizational and problem solving skills Ability to build trust easily and commitment to fostering deep working relationships Capability and willingness to have the tough conversations Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, feedback driven environment Energy, passion, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude  Experience using HRIS & ATS systems, preferably BambooHR Passion for learning and furthering your HR career

Nice to Haves:
SHRM or PHR certification
