On-site, Johnstown, PA, supports Johnstown, Somerset, Altoona and State College offices

Our HR Coordinators have been called to care in their own unique way. The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator is directly responsible for facilitating all HR functions and works directly with the local HR Managers, Regional HR Director, Branch and Regional managers, and business leaders to help organize, coordinate, and complete all HR department projects, processes, and duties for the organization.

Duties Include: 

As an HR Coordinator, you will be: 

  • This role will support the Johnstown, Somerset, Altoona, and State College offices
  • Accountable for the completion of all HR functions and duties for region and/or branches. 
  • Implements and interprets policies and procedures governing employees. Consults with Regional HR Director and local HR Managers for enterprise continuity. Provides input to HR leadership regarding new policy creation and existing policy review. 
  • Advises management on issues affecting employees. Handles employee relations for counseling, corrective action, and terminations, Fosters positive employee relations and works to solve any employee issues that surface by partnering with management and sharing with Regional HR Director and local HR Managers as necessary. Responsible for the orientation of new employees including performing criminal background checks, new hire documentation, and introduction to Interim policies and procedures. 
  • Manages the electronic employee personnel file process including scanning, uploading, naming, saving documentation into the HRIS system. Maintains and updates all employee files and ensures confidentiality of employee information. 
  • Tracks employee service requirements, training, background, and continuing education to ensure compliance to federal, state, county, payer, and Interim employment requirements.
  • Assists corporate HR with benefit enrollment and administration.
  • Assists talent acquisition team with preboarding and onboarding process as required.
  • Prepares materials and helps organize and track annual employee performance reviews.
  • Submits AVA requests and supports and advocates for the program and employee AVA rewards.
  • Performs regular HR audits of personnel files for compliance and in preparation for surveys. Works with management and employees to update files as needed. 
  • Investigates and communicates employee workers’ compensation claims. Manages claims with leaders and employees. Works directly with Regional HR Director and HR leadership regarding lost time or other challenges with claims management. 
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings, HR team meetings, HR trainings, and other meetings as necessary. 
  • Abides by and champions Interim HR processes and current employment laws and regulations. 

To qualify for an HR Coordinator position with us:

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Two (2) or more years of relevant Human Resources experience required. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  

Preferred Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • HR Certification (SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR)
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare industry preferred.  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:  

  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational and detail skills. High degree of accuracy and multi-tasking required for all job duties. 
  • Ability to communicate well both in written form and verbally.
  • Establishes and maintains excellent relations with all levels of staff and management and is a positive steward of HR department.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities with minimal direct supervision.
  • Proficient in knowledge of HR processes and employment law.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite.
