The Headlines :

The Coors Distributing Company (CDC) HR Director delivers people strategies, thought leadership and services to effectively build the organizational capability required to achieve business goals and imperatives.

The HR Director -collaborates with services of the Molson Coors HR specialists in areas such as Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Ethics & Compliance, HR Legal, Benefits, etc.

to implement HR initiatives in support of the CDC business strategy.

CDC is a subsidiary of Molson Coors and employs about 450 people of which about 60% are hourly and 40% salaried.

Direct reports include two HR Business Partners, one dedicated to the Operations Department and the other HRBP supports Sales/Marketing/G&A.

Other direct reports include a L&D Manager, EHS Manager and People & Culture Specialist.

The Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively partners with CDC functional leaders to build people strategy to support the overall business strategy
  • Ensure flawless execution of all key HR and business processes
  • Develop and implement HR solutions that support CDC’s organizational and operational needs of the function.
  • Understand the business in its competitive local environment and apply this knowledge to the implementation or development of HR strategies and services.
  • Employee Relations
  • Provide coaching, guidance and direction to management within CDC.

    Actively listen to manager concerns and recommends/ takes appropriate actions.

    Work to further professional manager/employee interactions and appropriately handle performance issues with managers and employees.

  • Responsible for Employee Relations tactical work product including investigations, employee relations data and review of PIPs and exit interviews.

    Identifies interventions required in respons e to market needs or initiatives.

  • Operate as a subject matter expert in areas of employment law by providing technical advice to the leadership team, partnering with Molson Coors Employee Relations and Legal Departments as appropriate.
  • Balance corporate and local objectives in successfully resolving personnel issues and challenges.
  • Organizational Development
  • Diagnose current and future organizational capability needs within specific functions and, with CDC Leadership, build a growth plan that is sequenced appropriately to the timing of business imperatives
  • Entrench new work practices aligned to the business strategy through appropriate change methodology and organizational anchoring.
  • Ensure flawless execution of employee change management initiatives including the appropriate communications of organizational changes and their direct connecti on with the business priorities
  • Partner with CDC management to provide the leadership required to create a continuous employee learning and sharing culture.
  • Talent Management
  • Lead and ensure full leverage of integrated people management process to grow talent and drive performance.
  • Provide differentiating talent development, talent engagement and retention strategies
  • Partners with Molson Coors talent acquisition support and extends candidate recruiting within the Denver market to effective source talent to support the business.
  • Develop insights from available people data (such as exit interviews, HR metrics, etc.) and determine the appropriate actions to be taken within the function to address negative trends or to capitalize on positive trends.
  • Relationship Building
  • Ensure personal credibility and impact through influencing others, leading people, and communicating clearly.
  • Create and maintain relationships with other HR functions through collaboration and teamwork.
  • Culture Building
  • Lead the learning and development initiatives among the CDC team
  • Executive sponsor of CDC’s three cross-functional employee resource teams that focus on 1) Community Impact, 2) DEI and 3) Employee Engagement / Recognition
  • Steward CDC’s efforts to embed DEI within the business, partnering with Molson Coors and tailoring as needed to the CDC business

The Other Qualifications:  

  • 5-10 years HR experience
  • 2-3 years previous experience managing exempt level employees
  • Strong Generalist experience with a focus on leadership level partnerships.
  • Proven ability to create presence in the business and apply advocacy skills to position HR as a strategic business partner
  • Working knowledge of federal and state laws/regulations relating to the human resources field
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, for example, identifying and diagnosing performance gaps and recommending solutions to close these gaps
  • Position requires commercial mindset to focus on broader business issues as well as HR issues
  • Well-developed negotiation skills and a persuasive and convincing nature as well as demonstrated conflict resolution skills are critical to position.
  • Planning, budgeting and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and manage the execution of people related projects and measure the impact to the business
  • Basic knowledge of the following aspects of HR management is required: workforce planning, employee engagement, succession management, performance management, retention.

Job Posting Salary Range: $123,300
– $177,200
