Human Resources Generalist

Purpose of Job

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for a variety of activities within the HR Department with the goal of providing exceptional support to internal and external stakeholders, including APCON’s employees and management. This will include responsibilities in the following functional areas: talent planning, recruitment, performance management, training and development, employee relations, employee engagement, benefits, policy interpretation, compliance, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Manages new employee corporate orientation and training programs
  • Maintains employee records in compliance with applicable legal requirements
  • Prepares information required to place employees on payroll and establishes employee file
  • Provides support and coordination with employee relation, performance management, and employee leave reporting activities
  • Participates in employee engagement initiatives
  • Provides support and coordination with benefit administration and open enrollment processes
  • Provides full life-cycle recruitment support to Recruiting Team including recruiting talent by developing and maintaining strong professional relationships
  • Maintains employee policies as needed
  • Ensures compliance with COBRA guidelines
  • Ensures that contact with internal and external candidates is always professional and positive

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and projects to achieve Human Resources goals
  • Must be able to understand talent gaps and actively engage with hiring managers
  • Proficient with HR Information Systems (HRIS), BambooHR experience is a plus
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Experience composing, typing and proofing materials

  • Excellent organizational, planning, presentation, troubleshooting, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional customer support
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to prioritize and be flexible in a fast-paced environment

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or the equivalent experience

Travel:  Infrequently, up to 10%
