Human Resources Generalist

The HR Generalist will be part of a fun, hard working team of HR professionals at Mountain Capital Partners (MCP) focused on supporting all of our resort partners across the southwest. The HR Generalist will be responsible for a wide variety of HR activities including assisting with administrative tasks and providing support to small resort HR partners, although the primary responsibility and focus for this position will processing multi-state, multi-resort weekly payroll. This position can be based at any one of our many resort locations. If you are interested in joining a group of fun loving outdoor enthusiasts, come join MCP and help us in our mission to give everyone the freedom to ski!General Purpose:The HR Generalist will manage a range of activities related to the administration of policies and practices in the areas of employee relations, benefits administration, and payroll. Partnering and consulting with the organization’s HR partners/teams on benefits and payroll responsibilities. Ensuring compliance with government regulations regarding pay, benefits eligibility, enrollment, and employees leave.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Process multi-resort payrolls, responsible for associated payroll tasks and reportingPrepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system softwareProvide current employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefitsAddress employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concernsMaintain and update human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation formsSearch employee files to obtain information for authorized persons and organizations, such as credit bureaus and finance companiesRequired reporting (not related to benefits) for federal, state local government, and industry specific such as NSAAConduct reference or background checks on job applicants for MCP positionsConduct new employee orientation for MCP to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectivesConduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination at the MCP levelCompile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism ratesInterpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations at MCP levelDevelop or administer special projects in areas related to HR administrationIndirect support to small resort HR partners and teamsJob Qualifications:Education or Formal Training:Bachelor’s degree or higher in human resources, business, or a related field preferredExperience:2+ years experience in a Human Resources related capacity requiredOutdoor recreation or hospitality experience preferredExperience working in a seasonal industry preferredPrevious experience with HRIS Software, preferably UltiproKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and administrative skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to multitaskStrong computer skills, and familiarity with the Google Suite of productsAbility to use spreadsheets and word processing applicationsKnowledge of HR Laws and Practices, with a focus on Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Texas, preferred
