Primary Functions: The HR Generalist position helps support and align business objectives with employees and management.

The HR Generalist formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees which support business objectives.

This is an exciting role for an HR professional who thrives in a fast paced, creative, high energy environment that will allow you to become involved in multiple areas of the organization.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration or related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience.

The ideal candidate will possess HR certification (SHRM or HRCI).

Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law.

Working knowledge of a broad range of Human Resources best practices.

Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources recognition and engagement programs and processes.

Demonstrated ability to understand client’s priorities and work through complex business issues to identify, develop, and implement effective HR solutions.

Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills; including oral and written communications, listening, and presentation/facilitation skills.

Ability to interact with all levels of management.

Ability to effectively set priorities and manage a high volume of activities in a flexible manner.

HR Certification (SHRM or HRCI) preferred not required.

Position Responsibilities: The HR Generalist will be engaged in a diverse scope of projects, working in concert with various departments throughout the organization.

These responsibilities may include but not limited to the following: Assure business activities are compliant with federal and state laws, company specifications, and the Affirmative Action Program in the US, Mexico and Canada.

Conduct investigations and work with the appropriate parties to determine next steps.

Provide support to employees and third parties upon request of payroll, deductions, vacation, employment verification and other inquiries.

Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

Process and evaluate requests for background checks and drug tests.

Assist and/or administer requests such as; Unemployment, FMLA, STD, LTD, and ADA accommodations.

Assist and/or administer support duties including but not limited to; open enrollment, payroll support, Worker’s Compensation programs; exit interviews; monthly and adhoc reports; arrangements for various company events and functions; verify employment inquiries according to established policy; etc.

Provides advice and counsel on performance management issues and works with the appropriate parties to determine next steps.

Supports managers in applying HR policies to high risk situations.

Respond to complex questions related to interpretation of HR policy/processes.

Travel required 20%.

Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed.
