Human Resources Generalist


This is a Contract position in Littleville, AL posted October 20, 2020.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Regional Human Resources Manager, this position participates with plant management and supervision promoting and leading positive employee relations throughout the plant. This position is responsible for all training and compliance, new employee on-boarding processes and the day-to-day execution of HR, Payroll, Benefit, and Workers Comp and Leave Management responsibilities. This position exists to support HR and Plant management to achieve an issues-free, safe and healthy work environment at the Russellville facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Employee Relations Maintain frequent, regular and visible presence to support Russellville workforce and to facilitate resolution on any employee issue Provide direction, coaching and counsel to supervisors and employees Participate with plant management and HR management in scheduled meetings Oversee and coordinate employee issues through the RET (Russellville Engagement Team Human Resources/Payroll Admin Execute all day-to-day employee relations functions Coordinate all Key HR and Plant Communication Systems evaluate communication mediums and content Verify the attendance process and point system is being administered correctly and communicate the deficiencies as needed Responsible for payroll updates and processing Ensure accurate recordkeeping (electronically and paper files) Benefits Assist in conducting the Annual Open Enrollment meetings Responsible for new hire orientation to include training/educating employees on benefits enrollment choices and election options Oversee enrollment, dependent verification processes to ensure timely and accurate enrollment decisions and back-up documentation supplied Troubleshoot benefit issues help desk process Staffing Oversee hourly/salaried internal/external staffing Open job administration Temporary Help coordination Posting processes Interview coordination and selection Background checks Applicant tracking Training Conduct New Employee Training Aid Regional HR Manager in developing/delivering on-going training to supervision and the (workforce (Diversity, Sexual Harassment, Conflict Resolution, Coaching and Feedback, Building High Performing Teams, Safety etc.) Develop and oversee training tracking and certification update processes Workers Compensation and Leave Management FMLA, STD, LTD coordination and communications (employee/supervision) WC Claims control and management Modified duty programs and coordination QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Human resources or related field / SHRM certification is a plus 3 to 5 years Human Resources experience preferably in a manufacturing/distribution environment Must have strong communication and written skills and the ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization, providing coaching and mentorship. Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office. Must have the ability to effectively interact with plant management personnel as well as the hourly and salaried workforce. Must project a calm approach to diffuse sometimes emotionally charged situations, using common sense, an appropriate sense of humor, and professional discernment.
