Position: Human Resource Generalist

Global Physical Security

Reports To: Human Resource Manager

Location: Redmond, WA

FLSA: Exempt

Salary: DOE

The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) along with the Human Resources Manager (HRM) provides support for both Securitas and a client specific security program to assist employees, assist in the resolution of human resources-related issues, such as wage and compensation administration, leave of absence administration, employee relations and benefits administration. The HRG will also drive a positive work culture that promotes employee engagement and help interpret policies and procedures. This role helps cultivate internal and external relationships in support of client and company goals. Outstanding communication and writing skills are required in addition to experience in employee engagement, recruitment, training, and performance management.


  1. Acts as point of contact for client site recruiting needs of non-exempt staff.
  2. Working closely with managers to respond to requests for information or questions, or to provide guidance on HR related issues.
  3. Lead or participate in special projects. For example, developing employee engagement surveys, cross training, team building events etc.
  4. Initiates and monitors employment screening and rescreening for account compliance.
  5. Partners with managers to conduct counseling when HRM is unavailable.
  6. Maintains worker’s compensation tracking and reporting with operations management team.
  7. Coordinate with operations to ensure HR policies are current and follow HR best practices.
  8. Address employee concerns and ensure employees are in a positive and productive work environment.
  9. Manages and maintains FMLA and non-FMLA leaves of absences tracking.
  10. Receives, investigates, and/or respond to employee questions and/or concerns.
  11. Processes non-exempt terminations and provides a periodic analysis of termination trends.
  12. Acts as a primary point of contact for new hires, to include new hire onboarding, work authorization screening, etc.
  13. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  14. Initiate exit interviews and turnover tracking
  15. Assists the Manager of Human Resources in counseling and guiding non-exempt employees.
  16. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various internal and external documents and reports.
  17. Uses client meeting technology, schedules and facilitates a variety of meetings and webinars to disseminate gathered information.
  18. Maintains a customer service approach to problem solving and works with client and program management to find solutions to current and future human resource needs.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a reliable means of communication.
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private)
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.


  • 3+ years of progressive human resource experience in a fast paced corporate and/or service-based type environment
  • Minimum BS/BA or equivalent in relevant work experience.
  • Experience working in both Union and Non-Union environments is highly preferred.
  • Evidence of ability to build trusted and long-term relationships with employees and management at all levels and across diverse cultures to help cultivate healthy and positive work environments.
  • Understanding of laws and regulations that govern human resource practices, including local and state regulations.
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports as well as business correspondence.
  • Exceptional skills in planning, organizing, and time management.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Skype, OneNote, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, as well as SharePoint.
