Career Opportunity: Silgan Dispensing Systems is looking to add a Human Resources Generalist to their dynamic team at their Thomaston, Connecticut location. Responsibilities: Assist in implementation of effective recruitment strategies; working with local vendors as needed. Build effective relationships with local vendors as well as universities to establish short- long term talent pipeline. Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements. Assist in coordination of open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs. Handle site employee relations issues, aligning with all regulations, provide coach/counsel to managers on best practices. Assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions. Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies. Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation. Maintain/administer site performance review process for hourly and salaried. Collaborate with the human resources team to develop effective strategies specific to recruitment, onboarding, performance management, engagement and exit. Conduct exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and work experience in Human Resources. 3 – 5 years’ work experience in an HR role in a manufacturing environment is required. Min 3 years experience in handling sensitive employee relations issues. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization. Must have the ability to manage high level of confidentiality with maturity. Strong working knowledge of HR principles and practices is essential. Knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations is essential. Human Resources certification is a plus
