Job Description 

The Human Resources ‘HR’ Manager will develop and implement business aligned HR programs and initiatives that promote effective business management and employee relations. This position will ensure compliance with all programs relating to human resources (HR) for all assigned field offices, regions and affiliates of Select Energy Services. This position is dedicated to the support, enhancement, and enforcement of company efforts and policies toward human resource practices, compliance standards and the company’s continued commitment to a safe and compliant work environment.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to

  • Review involuntary terminations with assigned HR Director
  • Hold New Hire Orientation class
  • Manage logistics of open enrollment for assigned regions with HR team and operations
  • Manage I9 compliance with HR team
  • Manage background and other possible hiring issues that arise according to Select policy
  • Make sure all assigned locations are HR compliant with postings and record keeping
  • Manage and conduct HR investigations, gather statements, and make calls with assigned HR Director as needed
  • Weekly Conf. Call and/or meeting – recap manager call and projects when needed
  • Reviewing applications for completeness, initial screening, interviewing, submitting for approval, coordinating drug testing, verifying submission, and notifying new potential employees of job offers/declinations;
  • Preserving employee confidence and protects HR operations by keeping information confidential;
  • Maintaining and updating human resource files;
  • Recording and communicating to operations and corporate HR information on new hires, transfers, terminations, and other personnel changes;
  • Facilitating the Company drug testing programs; including coordinating pre-employment, random, and other tests/forms;
  • Placing recruiting ads and sending resumes to the field offices, operations, and other management;
  • Using daily payroll reports to resolve issues regarding timecards, punches, and the timeclock;
  • Processing biweekly payroll and timesheets, obtaining required signatures, enter data into computers and maintaining records;
  • Assisting with annual benefit open enrollment and monthly initial benefit enrollment for new employees; as well as for 401k;
  • Communicating with employees on their issues or inquiries on benefits and/or compensation;
  • Opening and responding to HR email and mail, including unemployment claims, wage verifications, and employment verifications;
  • Communicating employee grievances or complaints to appropriate designee and/or assist with disciplining employees.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Minimum of five years of Human Resources experience preferred.
  • BS or BA Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred.
  • SPHR and PHR certificated is a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership ability: high values and integrity
  • Experience with and demonstrated knowledge of the hiring process
  • Experience with and demonstrated knowledge of the benefits administration
  • Experience with and demonstrated knowledge of the performance management
  • Experience with and demonstrated knowledge of the compensation and wage structure
  • Knowledge of employment law and labor laws
  • Advanced understanding of Recruiting and HR concepts, policies and procedures, and administrative procedures
  • Knowledge of HR principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and human resources information systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail
  • Strong skill in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including professional telephone etiquette
  • Develop and foster a team environment
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to multi-task and  manage a fluctuating workload
  • Ability to follow and give verbal and written instructions
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Select’s insurance guidelines
  • Bilingual preferred

Physical Demands and Exposures

  • This position works inside a climate-controlled environment.  The Company will supply adequate training and equipment to perform the functions of the job.
  • Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm.
  • Involves sitting at a desk for extended periods of time.
  • Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
