Job Description Alpine is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our Glenview team. The HR Generalist will provide day-to-day professional HR support and policy administration to multi-site facilities. The HR Generalist will serve as a trusted advisor to departmental leaders and carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Employee Relations, Training and Development, Benefits, Wellness, Compensation, New Hire Orientation, Performance and Talent Management, Recruiting, etc. Primary Responsibilities + Assist with the non-exempt recruitment process including scheduling interviews, working with hiring managers to write job descriptions, posting, screening and interviewing candidates. + Supports day-to-day employee relations, the application of employment laws and human resources. + Supports the ITW performance management cycle, advising and coaching in areas of goal setting, mid-year feedback activities, annual performance review and the compensation planning process. + Works with functional leaders to manage talent acquisition activities: Supports talent upgrade efforts as necessary and advises on market compensation requirements. + Organize data for affirmative action plan generation. + Organizes and conducts all new hire orientation and onboarding. + Inputs and maintains employee data in the HRIS and employee files. + Prepares employee communication documents including new hire, disability, benefit, separation notices and related documentation. + Works with ITW corporate human resources or third party providers, as necessary, in management of employee life cycle processes and transactions. + Produce and submit reports on general HR activity. + Manages leave of absence programs. + Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance. + Liaise with other departments or functions (payroll, benefits etc.). + Assist supervisors in performance management procedures. Job Requirements: + Bachelor degree, required + 2+ years of HR Generalist experience + Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred + Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices + Outstanding communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization + Effectively manage and prioritize workload, assume and manage multiple tasks without close supervision, adapt to change, and consistently meet deadlines + Strong technical skills/aptitude: Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word and Excel). + Experience with HRIS systems. + Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information. + Ability to travel 30% Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
