OfficeTeam currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and motivated Human Resources Assistant in the Wood & Furniture Manufacturing industry. The Human Resources Assistant will be accountable for a variety of personnel related administrative tasks and will provide clerical support to the HR department and employees regarding human resources related activities, policies, processes, and procedures. This short-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity is with a company in the Wood & Furniture Manufacturing industry and is based in the Cloverdale, California area.

Your responsibilities

 Payroll Support

•     Respond to requests for employment verifications with proper documentation and approval

•     Review timesheets & piecework for bi-weekly payroll for all locations and submit to manager for approval 

•     Complete daily timecard review to ensure all timesheet are complete with appropriate notes in accordance with wage and hour laws

•     Review and submit direct deposit enrollments and changes to PNG

•     Assist in preparation of new hire packets and prepare all the appropriate payroll forms and folders.

•     Assist with termination packet and prepare forms for manager approval as needed. 

•     Assist with translation and distribution of employee or manager memos and any other mass mailings.

•     Keep highest level of confidentiality, keep files locked at end of day and during lunch hours.

Benefits Administration/HR Support


•       Coordinate employee benefit enrollments

•       Serve as the employee’s first point of contact for questions on payroll, benefits, and other human resources policies.

•       Be knowledgeable of wage and hour laws

•       Review the benefits eligibility report monthly. Collect waivers for those declining coverage. .

•       Maintain I-9 binders and payroll records, EEO forms, Insurance files, WC folder

•       Assist with preparation, translation, and distribution of employee memos

•       Assist management and supervisors with documenting personnel actions, including performance reviews, promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations. 

Job Requirements:

•       Possess strong organizational skills, highly detailed oriented, and be a good communicator.

•       Minimum two years of human resources administration and payroll processing experience is required.

•       Fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish.

•       Previous experience with HR and Payroll software is desired.
