Job Location: Robinson, IL Summary: The Hershey Company Robinson plant is a non-union plant producing products such as PayDay, Heath, Skor, Milk Duds, Whoppers, and Reese’s Pieces in a high-speed complex environment. This position is responsible for supporting human resources organizational capability for the site. This involves supporting, driving, and implementing HR initiatives increasing organizational effectiveness, building capability and talent of the workforce and team, initiating appropriate documentation to maintain employee records, executing appropriate action in support of employee relations, using data and metrics to develop recommendations focused on improving ER/HR processes and positively impacting overall business performance and HR metrics. Responsibilities: Talent First Supports hourly and salaried talent acquisition process. Leads onboarding activities for the salaried workforce. Supports implementation of talent development and learning efforts to meet organizational needs.HR Excellence Facilitates business performance by utilizing knowledge of the business and interrelationships to influence strategy and decision-making. Contributes to human resource compliance efforts by ensuring guidelines and policies are consistent and enforced in the areas of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc. Facilitates, recommends, and supports a consistent approach to business process and procedures. Overcomes obstacles to delivering quality HR services. Leverages and educates others on available technology, shared services, HR services and procedures to meet customer needs.A Great Place to Work Supports employee engagement planning process and administration. Ensures positive employee relations through proactive employee communication, prompt issue resolution and fair & equitable policy administration. Supports wage surveys and insures market competitive wage recommends. Supports facilitation of the change management process. Manages day-to-day employee relation’s questions surrounding policy and procedures and partners with appropriate resources for timely solutions.High Performance Culture Identifies opportunities and recommends changes to increase performance, reduce cost, and positively impact. metrics through analytical approaches, including the tracking of key data and analyzing trends. Utilizes knowledge of business trends to create and implement clear, relevant, and actionable plans. Tracks and develops plans to remove obstacles for success. Responsible for assisting in developing and implementing administrative procedures and executing improvements through Human Resources and other departmental areas. Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: Ability to initiate, implement and lead team projects to completion. Strong communication skills and ability to work and communicate effectively with others across levels and functions while working on multiple tasks in a matrixed organization. Ability to make decisions based on all relevant information and develops recommendations/solves problems, based on data. Ability to coordinate cross-functional support external to the immediate facility. Ability to maintain focus on work assignments and activities when faced with changes, problems, competing priorities or stressful situations. Ability to systematically gather & analyze information from a variety of sources, identify implications of data, draw appropriate conclusions, generate viable alternative solutions to problems and evaluate the consequences of choosing each alternative. Proven ability to take ownership of work with a sense of urgency, enthusiasm, commitment, and persistence in the face of obstacles or adversity with strong attention to detail. Proven ability to establish and maintain constructive, positive working relationships. Ability to solicit and embrace diverse perspectives to identify mutually beneficial solutions. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or graduate degree in Human Resource Management or related discipline required. PHR or SHRM certification preferred. 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources required, with 1 year in a leadership capacity. Ability to lead projects to completion. Competent in Labor/Employee Relations, Recruitment and Selection, Benefits and Compensation, as well as policy and procedure interpretation. Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy Ability to work and communicate effectively with others across levels and functions while working on multiple tasks in a matrix organization. Ability to make decisions based on all relevant information and develops recommendations/solves problems, based on data. Must have working knowledge of state and federal laws along with practical application. Must have experience is administering FMLA, affirmative action planning, and workers compensation management and unemployment. Ability to facilitate training/learning in large group presentations.
