POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the HR Director, this individual will lead the Human Resources management function with primary responsibilities in overseeing administration of hiring, retention, termination, personnel records, legal compliance, compensation, benefits, and long-term staffing strategies. Further responsibilities include development and administration of personnel rules and regulations, pay and job classification structure, and programs for promoting employee morale and safety through training initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish hiring and retention practices that seek to foster employee job satisfaction and high morale.
- Keep abreast of legislation affecting human resources; trains management and monitors company policies to ensure compliance.
- Develop and administer the organizational performance management process.
- Administer benefits programs to maximize job satisfaction while keeping the benefit package affordable.
- Provide needs assessment and develop appropriate training programs.
- Manage all hiring and termination issues.
- Provide strong leadership for department and communicates a strategic vision for organization.
- Participate in and support the principles of Open Book Management and recognize the responsibilities of being an owner of the company.
- Required to follow safety standards. Required to wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee maintenance of accurate and complete personnel records. Ensure that best practices concerning confidentiality and retention are followed.
- Develop and or maintain regular reports to leadership team.
- Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed mostly in a controlled atmosphere. Some exposure to harsh conditions for short periods of time is possible.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear. Sitting 80% and standing/walking 20%. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR related field or SPHR certification.
- Five (5) years of experience in human resources.
- Experience working with laws affecting human resources administration.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Computer experience in Microsoft Office Applications as well as email and web-based applications.
- Requires the desire to expand personal competencies and capabilities through training and education.
SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Good understanding of both financial reports and budgeting process.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
- High level of energy and self-motivation.
