Human Resources & Operations Manager

We utilize Chinese and American manufacturing facilities for plastic, aluminum, steel, corrugated, packaging, minerals, and assembly services.

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources & Operations Manager (HROP) to join our growing team on location in the Polkton area, overseeing three facilities. We seek candidates who follow a merit-based hiring and management philosophy, and have strong leadership capability. This role will take ownership for motivating staff and creating a positive environment people enjoy working in. This role is also responsible for delivering full life-cycle recruiting services, ensuring that a robust staff learning and development program is in place, and overseeing disciplinary action and performance review processes.

The HROP will also work closely with the Lead Operations Manager. This partnership will be critical to the success of the company. Together, these roles will develop company policies, monitor compliance, and oversee projects and budgets. Their duties include realizing the company’s business objectives by promoting efficiency, and increasing profitability.

To perform well in this role you should have experience in both Human Resources and Operations, and knowledge around all relevant legal requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide inspired leadership to the staff; ensuring a positive and healthy work environment
  • Partner with the COO of the company on all types of operational and/or human resources related projects and needs
  • Consistently recruit excellent staff and manage all aspects of the recruiting process
  • Improving business functionality to align with core business objectives
  • Oversee human resources policy, staff coaching and training, and performance reviews
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
  • Maintain a smooth onboarding process, constantly seeking to improve it
  • Resolve conflicts through positive and professional mediation
  • Create clear and concise reports not limited to retention, productivity, workplace health and safety, and staff satisfaction
  • Handle workplace investigations, disciplinary and termination procedures
  • Maintain staff and workplace trust and privacy
  • Oversee and respond to UI accounts and notifications
  • Utility management
  • Mail management

  • Insurance management
  • Oversee all matters related to compliance and testing:
  • DOT Inspections
  • EPA
  • DMV
  • Drug Testing DOT drivers
  • Managing agency relationships
  • Fire Inspections
  • Eyesight testing
  • BNT testing
  • Personality testing

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills
  • Experience in Human Resources and Operations
  • Experience with budgets and financial reports, and monitoring expenses
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues
  • Ability to promote efficiency toward achieving business objectives and profitability
  • Experience in educating and coaching staff
  • Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes and workplace investigations
  • Experience in following and maintaining workplace privacy
  • Ability to give presentations.
  • Extensive experience in an operations management position, or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management and strategic planning.
  • Advanced knowledge of best business practices
  • Developing human resources policies, and monitoring compliance and performance.
  • Proficiency in learning business and HR software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
