ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: This position manages and administers personnel and labor relations functions to assure the most effective utilization of human resources and to maintain harmonious labor-management relations.

The Manager, Human Resources is responsible for the management of human resourc­es functions, including wage and salary administration, recruitment, employee relations, personnel policy administration and interpretation, benefits adminis­tration, training, compliance with governmental regulations, labor relations programs and policies which entails administration and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements, and resolving grievances and other labor issues in an appropriate manner. This position also instructs, assists and guides managers and supervisors in resolving employee performance and disciplinary issues.

NATURE AND SCOPE: This position reports to the Controller along with the Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Property Maintenance Supervisor and Facility Maintenance Supervisor. This position also takes direction from and works closely with the President & General Manager and the General Manager of the Blue course. Assisting the Manager, Human Resources is the Human Resources Assistant who processes and maintains highly confidential personnel and labor relation information in accordance with Company policies and governmental regulations.

Wailea Golf LLC is the operator of the primary amenities in a world-class resort destination.

Resort operations consist of three champion­ship golf courses, a 11-court tennis complex, two golf pro shops, one tennis pro shop and the leasing of facilities and grounds to various tenants. Other Company activities include landscape maintenance, building and facilities maintenance.

The Manager, Human Resources is responsible for the management of human resourc­es functions, including wage and salary administration, recruitment, employee relations, personnel policy administration and interpretation, benefits adminis­tration, training, and compliance with governmental regulations.

This position is also responsible for the conduct of the Company’s labor relations programs and policies which entails administration and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements and resolving grievances and other labor issues in an appropriate manner. Incumbent also instructs, assists and guides managers and supervisors in maintaining harmonious labor-management relations.

PRIMARY DUTIES: Develops, implements and manages effective recruitment and employment programs to keep vacancies at the minimum level possible. Instructs, assists and guides managers and supervisors in maintaining harmonious labor-management relations. Also provides support to 2630 Kalanikhaua Rd LLC in human resources and labor-related issues. Administers and implements cost effective employee relations, communica­tions and incentive programs to recognize performance and enhance morale.Researches, analyzes and recommends cost effective changes to compensation and benefit structures on a company-wide basis to ensure that they are competi­tive and conducive to recruiting and retaining employees on a long-term basis. Analyzes company-wide employee training and manage­ment development needs and recommends appropriate cost-effective programs to enhance skills and competence of employees.

Identify and administer ongoing training programs that provide critical development of staff and management Oversees the monitoring and implementing of customer service relations programs.Administers personnel policies and collective bargaining agreements to ensure consistent interpretation and application. Participates in collective bargaining renewals and contract negotiations.

Also aids with administering and interpretation of Wailea Old Blue LLC collective bargaining agreements.Maintains current knowledge of governmental regulations and practices affecting labor relations, personnel relations and benefits.

Ensures that the Company is following all government regulations including Family/Medical Leave, ADAAA, EEOC and Hawaii specific labor laws, i.e., Hawaii Family Leave/Medical Leave, TDI, Worker’s Compensation, Prepaid Healthcare Act, etc..Plans, coordinates, and oversees organizing of employee/community relations programs, employee activities and events and special projects.

Administers Company to employee communications. Directs, monitors, and administers the implementation of all standard safety regulations and safety programs to minimize industrial accidents and equipment damages within the Administrative department.Oversee budget for Human Resources Department and initiate cost saving directives when appropriate.Keep management team informed of government regulations and human resources related problems that could create a liability for the Company or have an impact on the company’s bottom line.

QUALIFICATIONS: 5 years HR Management work experience; management of all human resources functions including wage and salary administration, recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations programs, policy administration, administration and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements, union contract negotiations, training, superior technical and theoretical HR knowledge, up-to date knowledge of federal and state regulations.College or University bachelor’s degree.

3-5 years of Supervisory management experience.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Good to excellent computer skills; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Professional.Labor Negotiations skills helpful.Strong recruiting skills and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategies.Demonstrated expertise training managers and employees.

CERTIFICATIONS/ LICENSES: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB: Regularly requires sitting and working at a computer workstation, concentration and alertness, attention to detail, writing and composing correspondence, researching latest changes in labor laws and revising Company policies, primarily working in an air-conditioned office. Frequently visits other work sites.Frequently requires intermittent standing and walking, climbing steps or stairs, talking and speaking to others, use of and talking on a multi-line telephone (finger coordination), eye-hand coordination, answering questions and meeting requests of others, reading in moderate amounts, writing correspondence and reports, formulating and developing policies, supervising others. Occasionally requires light lifting 20-30 lbs., bending, stooping, twisting, giving instructions, use of a computer, calculator, pushing/pulling of 21-50 lbs.
