Payment Research Representative I

POSITION SUMMARY The Payment Research Representative I will resolve suspended payments by calling insurance companies to obtain information for posting.

Responsibilities Run a Suspends Report weekly for all assigned clients and obtain the required information to resolve them.

Research in the imaging system and find the remits for the suspended payments.

Call insurance companies to obtain copies of remits for suspended payments.

Look for the ERA files for the EFT payments in the system and report the missing files to the supervisor.

Document all communication with payors in Embillz and on spreadsheets.

Log the checks in the missing ERA’s database daily and report any that are “not enrolled” to the supervisor.

Research the data center reviewed issues and close them.

Identify the payer for the EFT payments and match them to the ERA files in the system, accurately.

Identify and report the discrepancies in the ERA files to the supervisor.

Other duties as assigned Reads and abides by the company’s code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs Reports any real or suspected violation of the corporate compliance program, company policies and procedures, harassment or other prohibited activities in accordance with the reporting policies of the company Obtains clarification of policy whenever necessary and may use the resources available through the Compliance, Human Resources or Legal Department to do so Support and abide by the values of the company Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Flexible, high achiever with ability to learn quickly and meet department goals and deadlines consecutively Excellent knowledge of Medical Insurance terminology HIPPA requirements Organized, detail oriented with excellent follow through abilities.

Can handle and prioritize multiple tasks.

Reliable, team-oriented, pleasant with excellent interpersonal skills Education/Experience High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Previous experience in a medical billing environment Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Working knowledge of Embillz billing system.
