Located in Ridgefield, Washington, the Payroll Administrator is a long-term temporary role.Key responsibilities- Detail all payroll liabilities by establishing employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payment- Facilitate company compliance according to federal and state regulations and guidelines- Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence- Preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages- Retrieve and assess information in order to resolve payroll discrepancies- Perform review and verification of source documents- Continue implementation of established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations, reporting changes where necessary- Offer assistance with internal and external audits related to payroll- Handle specific weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for department heads- Updating payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers- Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data- Handle all payroll information questions and requests- Reconciling of employee deductions and other liabilitiesJob Requirements:- Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen- Knowledge of internal controls- Proficient with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.- Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills- Knowledgeable about federal and state payroll regulations and requirements- 2+ years of relevant experience in payroll- Preference will be given to Certified Payroll Professional- ADP Financial Services experience- Knowledge of Union Payroll- bi-Monthly Payroll experience desired- Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills in particular- Outstanding data entry skills- Previous experience using accounting softwareAccountemps, a Robert Half Company, matches skilled accounting and finance professionals with remote or on-site jobs on a temporary and temporary-to-hire basis.
