What you get to do every single day

– Payroll record maintenance by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers

– Perform any other duties that arise in the course of normal business operations

– Able to reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities

– Exercise of proper data management by collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data

– Organize and compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages in order to draft relevant reports

– Execute relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports to circulate amongst department heads

– Offer assistance with internal and external audits related to payroll

– Promote employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential

– Collect and analyze information including resolving payroll discrepancies

– Answer questions and requests related to payroll information

– Review source documents with necessary verification

– Using federal and state regulations and guidelines, ensure company compliance

– Report needed changes after maintaining payroll operations according to established policies and procedures

– Calculate employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments to establish payroll liabilities

Job Requirements:
– Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

– Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.

– Mastery of internal controls

– Preference will be given to Certified Payroll Professional

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills

– Well-informed in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen

– 2+ years of relevant experience in payroll

– Multi-State Processing experience desired

– Outstanding data entry skills

– Earlier experience working with various types of accounting software desired

– The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
