Payroll and Benefits Analyst

This is a Contract position in Cranberry Twp, PA posted June 18, 2021.

Payroll/Benefits Analyst responsibilities will require application of a broad knowledge of payroll and related activities.  The ideal candidate will be able to perform data analysis to ensure accuracy, rule out discrepancies and resolve issues.  Must be familiar with compliance requirements of local, state and federal employment laws and regulations.  You will provide professional support in a full range of payroll responsibilities and group benefits administration.  You will work as an active team member with all staff and foster a culture of collaboration and interaction by supporting open communication and our open-door policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll Administration

  • Process multi-state/multi-company weekly payrolls  
  • Ensure that all wages are paid accurately and timely 
  • Assist in providing the finance department information for the monthly closing process
  • Take and handle inquiries arising from questions about payroll
  • Implement wage increases, bonuses, commissions, and so on in accordance with instructions given
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Update and maintain employee PTO accruals
  • Update and maintain the time & attendance software
  • Complete employee information requests: VOE, unemployment, etc.

Group Benefits Administration

  • Assist in the administration of employee programs; enrollments, changes, terminations
  • Assist in Cobra administration
  • Assist in the administration of Short Term Disability (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD) programs
  • Prepare monthly remittances and check requests for group insurance payments
  • Assist in handling benefits inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and experience requirement

  • Associates Degree preferred; Accounting or related field
  • 3-5 years of direct experience with payroll processing and benefits administration

Language and technical skills requirement

  • Able to handle highly confidential information
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Able to adhere to tight deadlines
  • Results driven and accountable for actions; works independently
  • Approachable and able to forge strong, trusting collaborative relationships
  • Effective communicator in every setting
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of Products
  • Experience with HRIS systems and Payroll software (Ultipro preferred)
