Alegeus seeks a Payroll & Benefits Specialist (PBS) to join our dedicated, passionate team of professionals.

The PBS will report to the Director of Talent Operations and be responsible for helping our company succeed via management of all payroll functions and support in benefits administration.


Provide accurate, timely and compliant administration of:
All Human Capital payroll functions from information gathering, validation and documentation, through to providing information to our third-party administrator for processing All benefit programs including health, wellness, dental, vision, life, disability, and benefit accounts including year-round employee communications, and coordination and execution of a seamless annual Open Enrollment process

OUTCOMES (the “What”):
Increase employee knowledge and understanding of Alegeus benefit plans as measured by annual employee engagement survey questions related to benefits (opportunities to do so include New Hire Orientation, Open Enrollment communications, and ad hoc answer to employee questions regarding benefits) Coordinate and conduct a seamless Open Enrollment process utilizing our new ERP as measured by employee satisfaction via a post-Open Enrollment survey Process payroll with 99.9% accuracy and 100% timeliness on a bi-weekly basis.

Stretch: Grow in the compensation space including participation in wage surveys, annual compensation to market review, and recommendations regarding internal compensation structure

The desired candidate should have direct experience in payroll and benefits administration; utilization of Workday for payroll and benefits administration is a significant plus.

The desired candidate should have a customer-service mindset and be able to clearly articulate company benefits and/or payroll adjustments with limited oversight.

The desired candidate should have experience coordinating and conducting a successful open enrollment, from initial broker conversation through to final open enrollment file feed.

All responsibilities for this role will be in service of the Outcomes listed above Direct the planning and execution of the annual open enrollment processes including development of communication materials, employee benefits presentations, and set-up in our HRIS Process all benefit plan enrollments and changes, plan documents, and required reporting including Form 5500, Summary Annual Reports and Descriptions Conduct comprehensive benefits orientation to new hires and research and respond to employee questions regarding all aspects of benefits Assist in annual audit and address audit results on internal controls for the 401(k) plans Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees on a bi-weekly basis in partnership with our payroll processor Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency This role will need to partner within the G&A team, across the business and with external brokers, vendors and partners Beyond the operations teams, this role will need to build strong partnerships with account management, product, and software development teams in order to realize some of the outcomes Assists in other human resources duties as assigned

A minimum 2-5 years work experience in payroll and benefits administration

Hungry, humble and smart with a learning mindset Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to set high personal goals and work independently Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues
