Payroll and Human Resources Administrator

Kick off your fall with a great job! CoWorx Staffing Services is recruiting for a Payroll and Human Resources Administrator in the Charlton, MA area.

Summary:

Primary responsibility is to accurately manage and process three separate payrolls. In addition, this role leads HR administration with responsibility for compliance related reporting, audits, employee events, communication, office supplies, remote reception and switchboard, amongst other duties. This position is part of the HR team and works closely with Accounting and managers across the company.

Job duties will include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for all payroll and Time & Attendance systems and processes both internal and external, providing excellent customer service

  • Manage employee payroll documentation and data, inputting and auditing all changes and configures all payroll fields

  • Review and ensure accuracy of time cards, time records and PTO accruals.

  • Compute wages, overtime, and deductions for three company codes.

  • Input and ensure accuracy of all voluntary deductions

  • Process Federal and State withholding tax forms and Direct Deposit

  • Ensure accurate compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations

  • Prepare payroll files for submission, ensuring timely and accurate payrolls without exception

  • Fund and reconcile employee retirement plan and health care spending contributions

  • Prepare and manage custom reports for all HR and Finance related needs.

  • Maintain employee electronic document system and paper HR files.

  • Ensure accurate completion of new hire, termination and change of status actions in ADP and benefit systems

  • Assist with the timely resolution of inquiries involving policies, procedures, benefits, payroll

  • Assist department with tracking the administration of various leave programs (e.g., FMLA, MA Paid Leave, disability leave).

  • Assist with the recruiting process including maintaining job postings, scheduling interviews and candidate follow-up.

  • Assist with updating HR policies, procedures and handbooks.

All you’ll need to qualify:

  • Bachelors in Business Administration or Accounting preferred. Experience in lieu of education considered.

  • Requires 3+ years’ experience in payroll administration with solid reporting experience and skills. – ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred. Multi-state payroll experience a plus.

  • Experience in HR Generalist / Administration a plus

  • Working knowledge of current federal, state and wage & hour and tax laws

  • Knowledge of payroll related benefits including 401K contributions, audits and census reporting

  • Organization, attention to detail and accuracy skills required.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments

  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel at a minimum

  • Focused on attention to detail, company policies, providing outstanding customer service

  • Team environment with high dedication to organization and accuracy

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, working effectively with all levels of staff, especially with senior executives

  • Outgoing, highly organized, persistent, and tenacious; able to deal with uncertainty and change. Exceptional social perceptiveness skills.

  • Highly advanced verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to handle and work with highly confidential and sensitive information

  • Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects independently

  • Event planning experience applying advanced planning skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite skills
