Payroll/Benefits Specialist/HR Admin

n nSummary of Position: Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Benefits/Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate and thorough processing of payroll for all MMP and HPI employees.

This position is also in charge of the administration of fringe benefits to include; medical, vision, FSA, dental, short-term disability, Life & AD&D, Cobra, and 401K plan and assisting the HR Director with basic Human Resources functions.n n n nResponsibilities:Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all payroll transactions for new hires, promotions, transfers, wage changes, terminations, garnishments, benefit deductions, time report approvals and other status change information.

Maintains employee benefits and job-related data in human resources/payroll systems.Responsible for all weekly payroll processes to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.Reviews and reconciles all monthly benefit and payroll related billings.

As needed, prepares invoices to payment.Provides services to employees to answer their benefit questions and resolve problems related to access to or payment of benefits.

Administers the employee benefit programs such as health, dental and vision insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, flexible spending, PTO, workers compensation, employee assistance, COBRA and other plans.Process, administer and oversee all leave of absence and accommodation requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability, Federal & State mandated leaves (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, FEHA)Prepares and communicates information to employees and former employees about benefit programs, procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures.

Participates in the annual open enrollment process.Coordinates transfer of data to external vendors, plan providers, auditors, and consultants as requiredPrepares and submits benefit, payroll, and on-the-job injury related government-mandated reports.Responds to governmental and external inquiries for employee statistics and other information.

May prepare government reporting.

Prepares organizational charts and various internal reports as requiredAssists with the completion of various benefits and salary surveys.Completes other projects or responsibilities as requested.Administers the day-to-day aspects of the retirement plans including; enrollment, contribution funding, deferral rate changes, maintaining up-to-date beneficiary information, distribution of appropriate notices, account rollovers, loans, etc.Prepares and assists in required auditingResponsible for the accurate and timely reporting to maintain compliance with various state and federal requirements.Any other duties as needed by supervisorn n n nQualifications:n nMinimum of two years of Payroll and Human Resources experiencePrior experience with ADP Workforce NowBachelor’s degree preferredProficiency in Excel, Word, OutlookStrong communication skills, both written & verbalDetail oriented with a high level of accuracyAbility to work with minimal supervisionFlexible and able to prioritize workload based on urgency and importance.Friendly and easy-going with the ability to work well in a small office environmentn n n n
