Payroll Coordinator

Job Title: Payroll Coordinator
Location: Diocese of Trenton, 701 Lawrenceville Road, Trenton, NJ 08638
Reports to: Michael D’Angelo, Director of Finance
Position Status: Full Time
Salary: Negotiable depending upon experience and education

Established in 1881, the Diocese of Trenton is comprised of Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth, and Ocean Counties within New Jersey. The Finance team is actively seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join our team of seven with an average tenure of 11 years at the Diocese. The candidate should be a highly motivated hands-on individual primarily capable of handling the day-to-day operations of payroll processing as well as other financial functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll of approximately 75 employees
  • Review any monthly/quarterly/annual payroll filings prepared by Paylocity
  • Create account analysis and reconciliations
  • Book journal entries for any account analysis and/or accruals
  • Back-up for accounts payable
  • Assist and support management in other projects.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum experience of 3 years processing payroll, 5 years preferred
  • Associates degree in any business or related field, preferred bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with any 3rd party payroll providers, preferred Paylocity
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Detail oriented with an ability to meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
