At Olympus, we help make people’s lives healthier, safer and more fulfilling, every day. *Let’s inspire healthier lives, together. * Job Description The Payroll Manager provides vision, direction, leadership and management to the HR Payroll Team; acts as a liaison between the HR functional users and other Business Departments, including HR Services, HRIS, Compensation, Finance, Global Mobility and Benefits. They maintain responsibility for providing the strategy, leadership and direction to the HR management in the selection, implementation, use and support of the payroll system and function; timely preparation and disbursement of the Company s payroll and payroll related items, management of the payroll staff, maintenance and compliance of payroll records and systems, local, county and state taxation issues; working with the OCA and OSTA Finance Departments on General Ledger issues; ensuring continuity, process improvement, and successful delivery of payroll services, including interactions with external vendors, for users throughout the company. This will include strategic planning, process analysis and design, project management, resource allocation and the management and development of a professional staff. Job Duties * Management and Leadership Responsibilities: Responsible for selecting, retaining, managing and developing a team of 1 to 4 Payroll Clerks and or Payroll Specialists, Analysts. Responsible for performance management to meet business objectives and employee engagement. Actively monitors and measures departmental and individual process performance to define areas of improvement. Drives continuous improvements, audits, and department and business communications, Analyzes and controls work processes and audits to accomplish assigned tasks. Models excellence, integrity and accountability. Represents the payroll function in meetings involving benefits, compensation, HRIS, tax, audit and accounting issues. * Payroll Processing: Responsible for the processing, transmission and overall management of multiple payrolls encompassing 3500+ Olympus employees including exempt, non-exempt, and union employees on a weekly and bi weekly basis in a multi company, multi country, multi state environment while maintaining accurate payroll, tax, time and attendance records and filings. Accountable for the integrity of the payroll data in the HRIS system. Processing and transmitting payroll to ADP. Ensures payroll updates are timely and accurately prepared. Responsible for compliance to garnishments and supports Reduction in Force (RIF) and union items when necessary. Processes payroll when necessary. Partners with Finance the coordination of the General Ledger. Provides payroll and tax expertise in the processing of Impat earnings and deductions in partnership with Global Mobility, Tax and external tax vendors. * Vendor Management: Responsible for establishing and maintaining partnerships with outside vendors. Provides regularly scheduled reviews with vendors to provide scorecard feedback and identify improvements for the partnership and delivery of services. Reviews all invoices from payroll and associated vendors. * Project Management: Project Lead responsibility for year-end payroll process, including but not limited to PTO reconciliation, review and issuance of employee W-2s. Responsible for the research, participation and testing of payroll system enhancements and improvements. * Tax Compliance: Responsible for the strategy, direction and compliance to all tax functions of the Payroll Department including the preparation of payroll taxes, quarterly tax verification and facilitation with authorities and ADP to resolve outstanding tax issues. Responsible for the reconciling of debits and credits associated with amendments and past payroll tax filings to mitigate imposition of penalties. Provide direction on expectations, deadlines and priorities. Responsible for directing the work with ADP Tax Service. Responsible for the accuracy of local, state and county taxes. * Reporting and Metrics: Responsible for partnering with ADP, Finance and HRIS to produce all necessary reports, including but not limited to monthly, year-end, workers compensation, flexible spending and other ad hoc reports as needed. * Performs other related duties as required. Job Requirements *REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:* * Bachelor degree or equivalent knowledge required. CPP PHR or SPHR a plus. * Minimum of 10 years progressive payroll experience required. * Minimum of 5 years payroll management experience required. * Flexible with business travel to other site locations as required in support of Payroll objectives.*We realize work isn’t just a job to you.*It’s a big part of your life, but not the only part.
