Our client – an international Consulting firm based just outside Chicago – are looking for a Payroll Project Manager to join the team. This is a temp opportunity for 6-9 months initially. They are currently working remotely, however candidates need to be able to commute to Lisle for when they return to the office later this year.

The role will involve:

– Assist the Global Payroll Transformation Lead in delivery of the team’s objectives

– Collect, review and provide support with updating and improving in-country payroll SOPs.

– Collect and document existing payroll vendor agreement.

– Review all current payroll provider contracts to ensure compliance with data protection provisions and

report gaps.

– Own PMO reporting for the Global Payroll function by developing and providing status reports

– Collaborate with HR, Finance and the business to ensure that project related data is collected,

synthesized and presented in an effective way.

– Supporting the provision of Management Information and access to appropriate records and systems.

– Responding to audit and compliance queries and supporting appropriate resolution.

– Managing agreed audit actions and reporting progress as needed.

– Managing records and systems to meet corporate compliance requirements.

– Overseeing root cause analysis of recurring reconciliation issues and recommending and influencing

the implementation of process improvements and tools/ solutions to correct and mitigate these.

– Liaise with the current payroll providers to manage data collection, cleaning and archiving in

compliance with data privacy legislation.

– Design a global payroll reporting functioning model for leadership review and lead the implementation

where approved

– Ensure tasks are completed to tight time frame.

– Challenge current thinking and help define best practices.

– Actively promoting process and technical improvements that support the global Payroll strategy.

– Assist to define, research and develop technical standards and procedures to assist with business


– Fully document payroll process standard operating procedures and update as required.

– Collating and planning process and system improvement opportunities that support continual service
